Great video Whit but do you work out for long nowadays to be able to eat around 2000 calories per day?. I’m 15st 1lbI work out for about 45 mins 5 times per week it’s mainly cardio with some weights and I take in about 14000 calories per day and some months I’ll lose nothing other months I’ll only loose 2-3 lbs it’s very slow. I count my calories to a tee aswell . When I used to eat 2000 calories per day I would stay the same weight ie maintain at 16stone🤦🏻‍♀️I don’t know what’s going on with my body lol but anyway thanks for the video please do more food related ones if you can though

Amazing content. And agreed with everything you said! I personally don't track my macros. But I don't have a problem with people who do because it does help in some cases! But we should all feel happy about the food we eat and the amount we eat. We should also learn to train ourselves not to feel guilty everytime we do have something unhealthy once in a while

Nic Holliday I’ll be completely honest. It has caused that. Not just with her videos but, other fitness “influencers” I’m still dealing with being overly obsessed with what I eat. Because I legit thought “if I eat like her, I’ll look like her” and it’s the complete opposite. I mean it’s not their fault that people like me, follow it, as they do a disclaimer. I’m more educated now, but I just don’t want others to fall into that trap.

Stephanie Amanda I agree. I don’t mean Whitney alone, it’s ALL of these youtubers that vlog about fitness, health and body image. It’s just really sad! They should take some responsibility though as they make the videos knowing their aim is to get people to watch, generally so they can profit from it. I’ve noticed the new trend with most youtubers now is to “eat intuitively” “be thick” etc etc....all trends are as dangerous as the others. They are the ones who make these trends for others to follow....just crazy!

I used to be very into protein and making sure I ate/drank protein with every meal....now I'm very carb heavy and my recovery time in the gym is SO much faster! I feel better in the gym too. Every body's body is different, mine happens to thrive on a very high carb diet.
@jennijubilant

@@saratries because glycogen, the source derived from carbs that the body uses MAINLY for energy, is from carbs. And because blood glucose, or blood sugar, is the nervous system's preferred means of getting energy to command the body to perform tasks, especially physical activity. Why do athletes drink bottles of sugary Gatorade to stay fueled? The answer is carbs, my friend.
@AliceRoche-ii2ke

@@jennijubilant you can get energy from fat and protein too. Some would say these are much better energy sources. Carbs can be stored as fat so not necessarily good for you.
@jennijubilant
@jennijubilant 4 жыл бұрын
@@AliceRoche-ii2ke I didn't say you can't. I said carbs are the nervous system's "preferred" means of energy expenditure, over fats and protein, because it is more readily available to be converted into energy. On the other hand, fats and proteins do not break down as easily into energy as carbs do. So fats and protein may be good for less intense acvitity or more long endurance type of training such as jogging. Also, how everyone's body functions is highly variable and your nutrition should depend on factors such as lifestyle and the intensity of your training. I train hard 4-5x a week by lifting heavy weights so I find that carbs are my go-to means of energy. I've tried low carb and I always felt weak and sluggish. That may not be the case for you, and that's fine. Do whatever floats your boat.

It's really simple, actually, and it's only complicated ehen you make it. NO restrictions (unless you have allergic reactions to that food), eat what you please, when you please, and pair that with some form of physical activity. It can be as simple as walking. Just find an activity you enjoy and don't restrict your diet.

@@natalieann894 I think intuitively eating is listening to our bodies needs and not necessarily what we "crave". Of course you shouldn't restrict anything, but if you're really listening to what your body wants. I don't think our bodies will naturally want to eat McDonald's everyday because we need more nutrient dense foods.
@jennijubilant
@jennijubilant 4 жыл бұрын
@@caitlinmaddy7594 yup. Also, if you start eating more nutritionally dense foods like grains, fruits, and vegetables, over time, your body will "crave" those "bad" foods less and less. This is because your body will learn to feel more satiated. Just don't restrict anything completely. Craving pizza or fries? Eat it. But don't make that your daily meal.

I personally think the thick movement can be just as damaging mentally as when everyone wanted to be as thin as possible. Now the idea of women being strong, thick, and loving their bodies is beautiful, but being thin is just as beautiful and women should not be shamed for being thin. There are a lot of genetic factors as well as health issues that can make it really hard for some women to put on weight and keep it on. Regardless of you being thick or thin I think women need to appreciate all body types and not be so quick to judge. (BTW this was not an attack on you Whit. I love you and you have helped me so much in my fitness journey. This was just something I wanted to mention)

@sashamotovylets1753
@sashamotovylets1753 4 жыл бұрын
michelenjdkfcoweuf i don’t mean it as an attack, but have you actually been thin to claim you know what it feels like to be in the shoes of a thin person? Yes, thin models are still in the media. Yes, small waist (in particular) is still glorified. Yes, we love the big butts but shun the muffin tops. None of this however means that thin people are celebrated for their bodies. I am genetically predisposed to being petite. Have been size 00/0 my entire life, and my entire life (especially growing up) I have been shamed for being thin. My father would repeatedly say “ew, you’re so thin,” guys would tell my thicker friends that I am too skinny for their taste, people would always feel the need to tell me I need to eat more. Now I am still shamed for being thin and my cat is shamed for being fat. Regardless of what size you are (or your cat is), people have an opinion on it. And THAT is the problem.

I remember being so restrictive that I would skip meals and instead counted 10 almonds out for myself for a snack and sometimes meal replacements (??? Trust me I know🤦🏼‍♀️). I would completely avoid lifting any weights. I would do ab workouts constantly. I’d run until I felt like I was going to pass out. I would go from eating hardly anything to binging and binging until I’d be sick because I starved myself so much. Now I’m constantly in the weight room working on getting stronger. I try my best to eat healthy foods but I don’t get upset if I eat mac n cheese for dinner. I feel so much better :)

Am I the only one getting emotional watching this?!? I've been following her since 2016 and REMEMBER watching these. Now seeing how much Whitney has grown is SO BEAUTIFUL. I found myself getting choked up. We love you WHIT and are so happy you are in such a good spot

Aw Whitney I’m about to cry, I love this video. I had a “coach” for a little bit that was providing me the macro numbers I should be hitting and I struggled so much with it. Then of course every week it’s like, “you’re not hitting your macros, do you even want this?” I would feel so bad about myself. I stopped seeing her and have just been eating to fuel my body. I’m still struggling a little bit with my relationship with food but not near as much as then. Thank you for sharing your journey! 💕

I love this video. Thank you for this. I’ve been following you since day 1 and I loved seeing you react to your old videos. It brought me back memories of when I first started my own fitness journey, and how unhealthy my mindset was at first, and how hard it was, and how impatient I was. Seeing you grow and change has made me see how much I have grown and changed myself! It felt like we both grew and learned what worked for us and what didn’t. My relationship with food has also changed for the better and my entire life in general has. Thanks Whitney! ❤️

seriously thank you for this. I've struggled with an eating disorder but also love fitness and being active and find it hard to live a healthy lifestyle without it being too triggering/falling back into restrictive, bad habits. you are literally THE ONLY fitness blogger that I can watch because you make it all about health and happiness and not about being skinny or what your body looks like. you have helped me in so many ways and this video is something I really needed to see right now. THANK YOU LOVE YOU FOREVER.

Ugh love this so much! Sometimes it's hard with social media to look up to someone and think they are perfect and have it all figured out... but then to see that they have struggled too but overcame it and have changed for the better really adds a positive perspective! You're such an amazing role model and honestly so brave for doing this! As always, thank you for being YOU :)

I started my journey three days ago and I am counting every calorie and measuring everything. I have done the on off thing for years, but this time I am sticking to it. I have diabetes and high pressure and it's time for a change. I am in the process of making healthy changes to the foods I do it, but I will say this. I am not afraid of carbs and I still eat them, but in moderation. Whitney, I found your channel before I started back on this journey and that is what made me do it. Every day after my work out my treat is sit down and watch some of your videos. Thank you so much for being here. You are making a difference more then you realize.
