The Fonz is that immortal hero that America always needs. A symbol of tolerance, a living embodiment of the American dream of rising up, and of course that motorcycle. Ayyyyyyyyyyyy

Agree, but something else. In the admiration of Fonzie as a TV icon, and his symbolic value in terms of politics, and all that...what we sometimes overlook is that Henry Winkler is a just a great, *great* comic actor. He's really funny. And it's a rare skill.

That all depends on the version/publication of the dictionary. I gotta believe there’s some generational differences with the word ‘Cool.’ My thoughts... 1950’s - James Dean (maybe Elvis Presley with the late 50’s editions) 1960’s - Steve McQueen 1970’s - Dean Martin (Also considered: The Fonz (although he’s portraying a 50’s character) 1980’s - Don Johnson (Also considered: late, late 80’s, throw in some Zack Morris) 1990’s - Things went south this decade, with choices shown as characters, not people...including Dylan McKay, the Dawson guy...ya know...Van der Beek) I’ve grown tired of lists. I shall stop now. Please...know...I’m really just joking here...especially with the 90’s shit. James Van der Beek? Are you kidding? You know why he’s not a real choice for ‘cool?’ Simple...no guy EVER pretended, even for a moment, that he was Dawson.

SUPER nice guy, and id have to say the nicest celebrity i have met so far, and ive met several over the years at various comic cons. Definitely meet this guy if youre a fan and ever have the opportunity. He would stop signing things every so often just to get up from his table and walk through the line of guests he has just to greet each one personally with a handshake and say, "thankyou for coming to see me" in such a humbled voice. WOW!!!
