The British population is stupid period. They would rather watch football game than vote not to Brexit years back. Today they are paying for what they did years back (Not caring about politics). The real reason for high prices is high labor costs. Without cheap labor from Europe, Prices in UK can only keep rising.

I think they’re evil, and they want the New World order that’s what I think that’s what it looks like that’s what E.S.G. is about. That’s what the carbon footprint about. That’s what that’s what this is about population control to achieve in order to achieve the fourth industrialization of clash of clash Rob wants. I need the New World order all the stuff going on it’s so sick it’s just so sick I can just see it it’s about, the ultimate goal is population control and the New World order and they’re gonna do it through wars this war and pandemics. It’s just the way it looks sorry it’s just the way it looks and I can’t believe how many people are asleep. There’s a lot of people awake though now but man it took a while it took a while And still everybody’s sitting still everybody’s just sitting still like OK so that being said I just get right out of the game and go start living like Little House on the Prairie again I want out of the game who wants these type of people run in the game you get it that’s where all this equity language is coming from that’s where all this carbon footprint you know climate is coming from. We have British supermarket giant Tesco here in Ireland, has about 25% of the market, Dunnes Stores about the same, and the rest to Aldi, Lidl, Supervalu and others. Tesco & Dunnes get the vast majority of their fruit & veg from the south of Spain 🇪🇸..... the reason given for the shortage from there, is bad weather conditions on the crop.....contrary to CNBC.

@@richardmeade2477 Yeah I was hearing all this gloom and doom about starving and freezing people in Europe this winter. Starting in early September, I've been in London, Bath, Edinburgh, Nice France and now Galway Ireland. Everywhere we go food is widely available and at reasonable prices. No blackouts and plenty of people in restaurants and pubs. I'm sick of the fear porn. The internet is an illusory world.

@@gps9715 I mean I know the west is in decline. We are extremely dysfunctional and white Europeans are being replaced and basically done away with. Lots of dystopia there to mull on. But so often, I hear these fear porn stories about food shortages and energy shortages. And basically, there may be a few hiccups here and there with availability for this or that (like eggs recently). But life goes on and has gone on from my experience. Maybe it really will get truly dystopian eventually? I could see that happening at some point. But for now, I'm calling bullshit.

The sanctions against Russia are not the main issue. We are told the problems are with weather issues in Morocco, and Spain. But Europe has plenty of food on shelves of the type we do not have. Our shortages are mostly due to Brexit, it is more of a pain to export to the UK than to the EU now, so with more limited veg to export, it goes to Europe and not the UK. Yes, you can add energy costs on top, but that is not the primary reason. I can still buy tomatoes, there are some in the supermarket, but it is easier in farmers shops, they have tomatoes because the will pay the necessary prices, the supermarkets are trying to pay too little.

Must add that major supermarkets are refusing to pay veg/fruit producers the extra costs that producers R faced with. So many producers have stopped producing goods. Many have gone bust. Plus, in the case of eggs, producers have had to increase prices x 10%, yet supermarkets have increased prices by 60%. There is a graph somewhere on this.

Hi George. I like the new quality, but I will complain a bit about the news presented. I live in the UK and cannot confirm any if the information. There could be some shortages somewhere, but it surely is not a commonly known issue. I do some travelling around and never had an issue at the supermarkets. Two weeks ago it was t 100% easy o buy eggs in the evenings, but no problems in the mornings at all. What I am trying to say is, it is not a perfect situation, but surely it's not as much of an issue as some foreign media present.

I live in the southeast England and the past 2 weeks there has been a massive shortage of some main things like tomatoes, cucumbers and some fruits. Finding eggs is literally a chance, if you are there the first hour when they fill the shelves basically. To be fair, things are not terrible(yet) and compared to where I am from (Greece), UK is waaaaaaaaaay better in terms of standard of living and money, especially for specialized workers (don't know about other jobs). Exclude London of course, London is ridiculous...even a 3000/month salary is not enough to live alone and have proper savings.

It is not only due to energy costs (oil) it's more due to costs of fertilizers as nitrogen fertilizer is made from Methane (natural gas) (and in Europe NG prices skyrocketed), also both Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K) fertilizers were also supplied by Russia and Belorussia. And everyone should understand that without fertilizers food production will be the same as in 18th century.

Most people would probably be surprised by just how much food they can grow inside their home. I also have a Meyer Lemon / Lime Bush ordered that I'll grow in a container so I can bring it inside when it's cold. You can start most lettuces from seed and begin harvesting in just about three weeks or so. I'd be preparing as best as people can. Something is better than nothing.
