Season 4 set the bar high and that's probably why people didn't enjoy season 5 as much. But i personally really liked it

Nah, the main reason people didn't like season 5 is because the story went too crazy. You had people cooking with explosions and chainsaws. In the manga, people didn't like the story either because they usually skip over the actual cooking and just skip to the end dish. It loses so much tension and interest. Its said to be due to a key member of staff in the manga production leaving before this arc.

@@yadafty7671 The manga was supposed to end where season 4 ended. Then the manga publisher talked the writer into extending the series, but ultimately didn't give him nearly enough pages to tell the story he wanted to tell. Add into that his co-collaborating chef was out on maternity leave while he was writing this arc, and that's how you ended up with what we got for Season 5.

The creator clearly has no more interest to develop the story/ the storyline went out of control after season 4. There are way too many loose ends such as the battles between the father and the son.

The war arc in Food Wars is really good. Some say one of the best in Shonen Jump history, mostly due to the philosophical war going alongside the culinary one.

Watching openings again give me the nostalgic feeling. I love this anime and I watched all 5 seasons but it ended unfortunately. I wanted more of food wars😭😭. I already told myself that I wasn't gonna watch sao and food wars op reactions because they make me depressed whenever I think about them. I miss them way too much but since it was from you guys, I clicked on the video

This is one amazing show. I never liked the idea of it just being about cooking and I didn’t get round to watching it for a long time but my friends kept pushing me to watch it and I’m so glad they did! Watched the first episode and binged the first four seasons in three days. Before watching the final season as the episodes dropped weekly. It is hands down one of the funniest anime I’ve ever watched, the main protagonist is amazing and the cook offs in the show at times are more exciting than most fights in a battle Shōnen which is crazy to me 😂 The Ecchi makes it even better in my opinion because it doesn’t distract you from the story and it’s a part of the show’s appeal.

Just so you know, there is no actual combat, it's just cooking battles. It's all symbolic, two characters fighting with swords or fists could mean that they have a battle, and a special outfit or utensil could indicate the "theme" of the cooking battle.

Important thing for many of these openings (and endings as well) - is that there is a lot of changes each episode to some of them. Most of the time it's just the ingredients that are shown that has been important to specific episode. Plus there are some reveals of characters and changes based on character development. 7:25 What I like about this opening and arc as well is that they put the shy side-kick girl in a fight against one of the main rivals of the protag. Everything that I needed from shounens like Naruto or Bleach. Basically comparable to Uraraka vs Bakugou in HeroAca.

Just here to drop this comment for TLG so Erina and Souma are a thing but it's mostly hinted and only confirmation from the author is present and Erina's feelings towards him but that doesn't make Erina a damsel in distress kind of woman she is a queen and demands to be treated as a queen even by the man she loves also yeah Future seasons will reveal many important stuff so do watch those overall it's a great story with a happy ending that's all that matters

My first favorite anime has been SAO but then 'Fate series' overwhelmed me with awesome animation especially the 'Fate\Stay Night: UBW and the Heaven's Feel Movies. I like this show so much I paused in the middle of Jojo Part 5 (which I wasn’t really enjoying) to watch this all the way up to Season 5’s episodes it had before COVID hit and production stopped shortly.

Foodgasm the animation. Hell's Kitchen. It's about the MC at this very high level school (probably the world's best elite culinary school) as underdog and compedes with other students at this school. There are regular event weeks in the school like the train arc (train as vehicle, not training), where students can kicked out of school for simple mistakes. In this case they travel to North Japan. Later on they have to fight against the (culinary) underworld taking over the government like in Chuuka Ichiban aka Cooking Master Boy (1997-1998) which had got a revival series with 2 seasons between 2019 and 2021.

It did fall off a bit by the middle of the last season but I was really satisfied with the ending. It is wholesome but it's better if you react to it cause there are some scenes that can give a lot of content (if you know what I mean)

@@mmm-lv3mo Nah. The battles got so forced and became less creative. It became so predictable. New opponents just started randomly showing up out of nowhere and I couldn’t care less about them. If you ask me, season 3 was definitely peak food wars.

So I think a lot of people have already stated that season 5 was a bit of disappointment due to many factors. However a lot of people note that the animation gets slightly worse throughout the series and If you don't know anything about long running shows the funding usually gets lower and lower per season. Basically most anime are made to promote the original media so the first season gets a huge boost of cash. After that it all comes down to numbers. If the series sells a lot of original media and blue rays that reflects how much money they put into the following season and how much investors are willing to gamble. There are some series that are funded directly from the animation studio but they are rather rare. To put it simply it's a huge risk to fund another series of an anime as it won't have as much of an impact on sales as most people will have already bought the original media.

season 5 was ass thankfully it was only 12 eps but it was lit until that point and the story was basically wrapped up by season 4 so I'm thankful that the main stuff was handled well

This show is so good at the start but gets repetitive during S3-S4, and the animation is getting worse and worse per season, which I'm really disappointed because I have read all the chapters in the manga when there's only 3 season in the anime yet, and I really love every chapter of it. Too bad they already know that they can milk this series if they just finished it.

Seasons 1-2 focuses on the food but Season 3-5 focuses on the story more and neglected the food already so they just show the food which almost all looks exactly the same, they look like cut out pngs.

I'm with you. They should do the series. Interesting fact: the actual recipes in the first 3 or 4 seasons are real. I made the Chaliapin Steak Don (I used peach preserves in place of pickled plum) and it was freaking awesome!
