Love eating this palm fruit especially the young one. Soft and absolutely delicious. On the other hand, the local people collect the palm juice at night and turn it into palm sugar or 'gula apong'.

there's similar one, kind of palm fruit also. we call it buah tap, buah lontar or kolang kaling. the simple way to enjoy it, soak them in syrup for night or days in fridge, taste is so refreshing for tropical climate.

I’ve said the same many times and I’m a die hard foodie. I believe however, it’s simple, your hungry, you have need, and there it is in the tree…. Imagine how many things were eaten, and people died. That was how you found out “don’t eat that, uncle don did and died”. It’s nuts. It’s also nuts the literal number of amazing things on this planet that provide sustenance to us and all the other creatures on this rock.

It's in Vietnam grow in water , it's hard to pick , heavy to carry ,they sell them now , before Communist invade South Vietnam , never seen this fruit in the market

I had the same thought while watching this video. In October, I'm moving from Texas (USA) to Thailand. From there, I will visit other Asian/SEAsian countries frequently and I'm sure I'll buy from street vendors often. When I do, I'm sure that I will tip them more than what the product actually costs. I feel like it will still be a good deal.........the actual cost of the products they sale is so much lower than what I'm used to paying.

그래서???맛이 어떻냐고??? 과일인거 알겠는데.. 어떤 과일과 비슷하며 식감은 어떤지 말해줘야 할거 아닌가... 솔방울이 커졌어요 버전 같기더하고 해바라기 씨가 대따 커진 느낌 같기도하고 그냥 과일예요 하면 첨보는데.. 그런가보다 해야하는지... 아시는분 설명좀 부탁드려요

Love nipa palm fruit....but that's so much sugar added to the juice 🤢 And I would caution drinking from street vendors like this cause they could have also added tap water to the fruit juice.

Iya nipa biasa tumbuh di muara pantai. Kalo lontar atau siwalan tumbuh didaerah berkapur. Kolang kaling atau buah atap itu biji pohon aren. Buah nipah rasanya mirip buah siwalan.
