I work in film in Vancouver, Canada and we’ve been off work for the most part for over 2 months. They also want protection from AI. Really hoping that things get settled soon so we can all go back to work!

@@deemamazin6828 there’s little to no work due to the writers and now actors strikes. If something was already written then they are able to proceed with production but they are not allowed to revise any parts of the scripts or go off the script.

The purpose of a strike is to cause inconvenience. One of the issue they are protesting is the use of AI to replace actors and writers, so those crew affected will still be out of jobs if the execs get their way. Solidarity with strikers.

Its so weird with Maybelline that people in the US still care about men wearing makeup. I lived in Korea and makeup there is for both men and women. Same with skincare, its marketed toward both men and women and you see adds there all the time with both men and women.

Not the first time Miranda has displayed this type of before in her concerts. I remember she did some concerts in the PNW and people were hitting beach balls around through the crowd (which is not that uncommon). She got angry, popped the beach balls and lectured the crowd. Her entitlement behavior has really turned me off

Loved the episode this week! My peak is I got the job I interviewed for two days ago right after my interview. My pit is I helped my mom clean the house for nearly three hours yesterday afternoon without sitting down once other than a bathroom break, so my knees/hamstrings have felt like jello up until earlier this afternoon.

You both made really good points about the writers strike! I was listening to the toast and she also brought up an interesting point: producers/films makers are going to start turning to influencers to be in films if the strike continues on for too long. Their argument was whether or not the influencers should turn down these opportunities in order to support actors/writers making more pay, or for influencers to take these opportunities. It’s an interesting episode! Got me thinking. Love you guys 💞
