The guy with glasses kept mentioning Bill Nicholson era, my question is - did he really witness Spurs' football during the Nicholson era? I'm 43 this year, he looks the same age or younger than me. I started following Arsenal during the mid 80s, when I was 15, 16. Nicholson left Spurs in 1974, when I was 4 year old. The guy with glasses probably just 1 or 2 years old, probably never even born. So how the hell he knew about how pure, how wonderful Spurs' football were under Nicholson?

Boredom through 'Lockdown' brought me here. I'm a Chelsea fan - but Tottenham have never played better football than Arsenal (unless it's via Pathe News in black and white!).

I was there from the late 60's when Bill Nicholsons teams played Arsenal it was mainly defend deep and long balls. He won One league title in his 16 years in charge finished 18th in his first season and quit after finishing 11th in his last season. He said the club were unambitious for his reason for leaving.

I remember spurs fans complaining about Bill Nicholson's long ball, defensive tactics in the late 1960's. Some things never change.

From the days of Herbert chapman up to the present day regime under Arsene Wenger and their consistency over the years is the key element in achieving this. However, all clubs suffer bad times with changes on and off the pitch and players, and in particular, fans are deprived of success as a result. Tottenham, i would like to think, are heading in the right direction now, and maybe, just maybe, will go on to fulfill that. Good documentary though!
