@I PUT THE SEXY IN DYSLEXIA BABY Egghead no, he does not change his system, he only change the roles of his players, for example Gundogan who used to play from the deep, now he plays very offensive on the box. His setplay of the tactics are still the same. And if you mean about the 4231 formation, he only uses it against certain teams, and Pep genuinely doesn't like the 4231 at all, he always prefer 433 And when it comes to who's better? Both of them are on the same level, only Klopp lacks high quality benchwarmers, that's the only difference between them.

this kinda eased up the pressure of finding Aguero's replacement, as some of the players can play as false-9 in that central attacking position. Current Pep's team is doin that the world of football has never seen , even he did some of these things at Barca too. Technical skills are always above Physicality & speed. Speed with technical ability is even more great . When city lose the ball , see the mid field & defence & how great they make those lines. You cannot break such lines with 1 or 2 Thiagos , you need a whole team who understands that. Pep loses at UCL when his players make mistakes that they shouldn't . VAR , Sterling miss , Ederson giving away a free goal , countless clear chances not getting in , how's that overthinking ?

I would add that : 1. Defensively, Fernandinho's contribution. He is good at commanding the midfield and practically everywhere there to cover. Dias and Stones are great but without him, the ball would progress further into their final third. He is excellent this season. 2. Offensively, their fluidity and versatility. If you see goal contributions, you would see this team did not depend on anyone on goal or assist, they are all about even in goal + assist contribution. Unlike some teams that has primary goalscorers, they are quite the same...basically City have no real 'star player' this season. I'm even surprised how selfless Sterling is nowadays. He is actually that one guy who hogs the ball a lot. I mean, Mahrez, Foden, Jesus, Gundogan, Bruyne, etc are all fluid and Gundogan is really a great jack of all trades. 3. Most of the PL teams are basically inconsistent this season, you can even see the score gap in 4-10th place. Chelsea is shit in the first half, Arsenal is still trying to get out of that mud after Wenger left, Tottenham is inconsistent, Liverpool is injury-ridden, and MU still have Maguire, Victor, and De Gea at the back. Only West Ham and Leicester are doing good this season. You have to see that almost in every match, the opposing team feared City.their match with Spurs and Arsenal show it the most. It's like they were playing to force a draw. Only West Ham came with confidence, and they nearly punished City that time and they actually managed to pressure them. City only won because they have better players. 4. The foundation of all this, money. Believe it or not, Spurs actually try to sign Dias. Had it not for the Covid, we might actually get Dias to our team. Remember Jose made our team title contenders with backs like Dier, Aurier, Alderwield, and Reguilon. Imagine if Dias joined Tottenham. It will probably be a close race between City, MU, and Tottenham. See? No matter how good a tactician is, money is important to win. I think Pep's City now is extremely well-balanced, they really play as a team and are good both offensively and defensively. It's scary to think your goalscorers are someone like Gundogan, Foden, Mahrez, Jesus, and Stones. Imagine if City bought someone like Kane or Messi did come there next season. It will probably surpass Hansi Flick's Munchen with high margin. This City is reminiscence like his 2009's Barca without Messi, stout and extremely balanced.

The are two main tactical changes responsible for Manchester City improvement. 1st is leaving 4 men(2-2 Shape with 2 defenders and 2 midfielders) to defend while attacking instead of 3 men(2-1 shape with 2 defenders and 1 midfielder). Rodri can't defend alone as a defensive midfielder, he can't anticipate ball on counter-attack like Fernandinho. So Guardiola put a midfielder next to Rodri and the team stopped leaking goals. The problem is that this made the team less offensive. So his last change was using one of the full-backs as defensive-midfielder next to Rodri and freeing Gundogan to attack. This balanced the team and made them generate more space and creating more chances with Cancelo and Zinchenko playing really good as "midfielders". 2nd change was changing to a 4-4-2 formation with 2 false nines as the 2 strikers. Aguero and Gabriel Jesus got injured at the same time so Guardiola used the midfielders as the strikers. Even after Aguero and Gabriel Jesus returned from injury he still uses the same formation. In hindsight, this formation appears to be the best for Manchester City because Guardiola does not have a natural player capable of playing the lone striker and lone holding midfielder in the 4-3-3 formation.

People make fun of pep because of the "oil money". But the fact is that you can't win the big trophies without spending good amount of money in this era. Liverpool are struggling with it now because they don't have the squad depth like City where as city won't struggle as much because of the squad depth they have. To be the best you have to spend money to strengthen your squad. So stop with this oil money bullshit.

If you are a good person, money will make you a better person. If you're a bad person, money will make you into the worst person". in this case, it just shows how the owner/management handle their money for better or worse.

I love these videos!! I think City has all the tools to win everything this season! Their depth is amazing, they're freaking hard to score on, they can attack you multiple ways, multiple players can easily take over games. UCL/Cup matches always have the unpredictability, so a Lyon style exit could always happen. But the main difference I see is that this team doesn't concede the goals conceded to Lyon last UCL. The way Guardiola keeps bringing up new players, making players the best versions of themselves and is on top year after year is just insane!

Great video again! You make very clear analyses and I watch differently to football games now! I really see de movements and tactics you explain in real life games, which gives me an extra dimension while watching any football game. I'm also a little interested in your personal background, like nationality, real life job and such. Thanx and keep up de good work!

Ole is kinda inconsistent... one time he's like a clueless clown, then other time he suddenly looks like a genius. Dunno, he might be good for the long term if the club and fans can be patient and supportive with him... or he could also stagnate and keep his inconsistencies for years, in that case then sacking him would be for the best.

You know your stuff, because as a City fan I have noticed the 433 and the 4231 during the season... And they do switch between the 2 formations during a match, which gives them a variety of tactics during a match, and makes it difficult for teams to defend because they switch from these formations seamlessly...and Gundogun is the player of the season for me this season not for his goal, but for his defensive capabilities,he helps City have Stability in midfield...

City's best trait is there excellent scouting system (or whatever it is called). Almost every player that they buy is good so they have a solid first and second team. Everyone says they spend a lot of money but well so does real, barca, man u but city spends it very efficiently. Like ferran torres, i don't know why no team went for him he is such a good player and also so cheap and is an excellent backup for Sterling

The key to citys domination is the positioning of the back four the back four don't drop to deep or push to high but take a middle ground which allows the 3 midfielders and 3 attacker's to apply a calculated press if the ball goes over them it has to be inch perfect and the keeper is favourite. If back four is too deep city cant press or create traps most teams can't handle these tactics which only pep and sometimes klopp apply

The attacking players of City are so familiar with each others play that you can see them rotate non stop in the attacking third and just play the ball over the defense and 1 of them is surely there to pick up the ball. That is what is lacking on alot of teams who has alot of possessions. The players get the ball to the final third and just waits for someone to get the ball to them with no movements. All the exchanging of positions in the attacking phase makes it hard to man mark n confuses the defenders alot on who to mark. Thats the brilliance i see whenever they attack.

@@catchblack455 I won't say anything original but I believe that the result will been taken by the little details. The two teams, in my opinion, are strong.
