One thing I noticed was how in defensive phases on the left, Rüdiger was the one who was always up against Salah in the 1v1 duels with Alonso inverting to Centreback, this was probably done to compensate for Alonso's pace but for the second Liverpool goal, Rüdiger is defending 1v1 against Salah so he gets dragged out to the wing with Alonso at CB. Ball goes back to Trent then Salah quickly makes a sharp out to in run and is now 1v1 against Alonso, exactly what Tuchel was trying to prevent, as expected Alonso has no chance against Salah and Salah scores.

Liverpool missed Thiago in this match & there are some growing pains for Konate which was inevitable.

The problem u have when u ay Chelsea is that they play with 2 CM/DM's & 2 AM's which results in a numerical advantage for them in the middle of the pitch. Whether a side plays a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 Chelsea will always have that extra player advantage in midfield. They're very strong centrally both in defence & in midfield due to the numbers. If Chelsea can sort out the Lukaku issue & get him motivated, keep hold of Thiago Silva & Ruidger whilst adding another CB like Kounde then they'll challenge City a hell of a lot closer next season. With Liverpool the squad needs a freshen up with some players being moved on & replaced with younger & fresher players. Liverpool need atleast 1 if not 2 new CM's to help freshen up that area along with a striker who's comfortable playing through the middle allowing Jota to challenge to play in his natural wide attacking position maybe a switch to 4-2-3-1 or a 4-2-2-2 allowing when fit Thiago to partner Fabinho in CM. Whenever they've played together Thiago has dropped deep alongside Fabinho allowing the 3rd midfielder normally Henderson to push forward or pull out wide. As he's getting older he'll be 32 when the new season starts another all action midfielder will be needed to do that unless Klopp sticks with Elliott in that position or maybe have him cover Salah in his wide right position

Kanter and Kova absolutely dominated Liverpool, and Pulisic did good playing in his preferred position. Maybe if we had Reece or Chilwell back we could've went home with the 3 points, who knows.

Just a recommendation, it would probably be better to the overall video if while explaining the game the game pictures probably didn't show up, in my opinion it just breaks the flow and makes it a bit tough to follow properly. Everything else is great, love your videos! ❤

Another great vid from our FMS guru. I though Chelsea out played Liverpool, and should have won this game. They dominated possession and kept better control of the ball and Liverpool's first goal was a result of a horrid mistake by Chalobah, not any great in-the-run-of-play dynamics. In contrast, both Chelsea goals were strokes of individual brilliance. Liverpool opted to counter which probably was a result of no Firmino to orchestrate. Some other observations. (1) Tuechel was pretty fired up after the game by Mane's foul and the general effect of officiating on Chelsea's last few games. If he were an NFL coach, he would be fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for criticizing the officials. You have to admit, he is a world class complainer as well as a world-class coach. (2) It seemed to me that Havertz was the 9 rather than Pulisic, who was more out wide, especially in the 2nd half when he was almost exclusively on the right. (3) As an American, I cannot express how great it is to see Pulisic come into the form he is capable of. He was terrific in this game, with three great chances , one of which he buried decisively, and his overall dynamic play, creating corners and suffering fouls (which while getting/keeping possession, leads to his injuries). I wish the kid would hit the weight room--he is SO slight. Anyway, our future national team results depend a great deal on Pulisic playing at this level of quality. It was very heartening to see today. If you watch him as much as I have over the past couple of years, both in a USA and Chelsea kit, you cannot doubt Pulisic's intensity and will. You can see why Teuchel likes him and, as the scuttlebutt goes, why he was really incensed that Christian got injured during US qualifying.
