Ladies and gentlemen, England are in the semi-finals of Euro 2024! Today, Marcus, Andy and Vish are here to let out an almighty easaaay and explain why form no longer matters from here on out.

Toney should absolutely absolutely be starting over Kane. Toney scores at least one of Saka's cutbacks against the Swiss. It's a nonsense playing a player who is playing the way Kane is, constantly. Bellingham and Kane being spent are only a problem for a manager if he can't fill their roles. Southgate can. It's a nonsense to suggest this England team can't cope without Kane and Bellingham playing the way they are. Or Trippier.

Southgate knows more about international football tournaments than any other Englishman in history. He’s played in 4 as a player, coached at youth level, and now managed in 4. He might just know what he’s doing.

@GERBOY90 but that's just your entitlement setting in, thinking England have a Devine right to beat those teams. They don't! 100 million quid players yes, but it's a team game, not an individual one. These teams are often underestimated and have a sheer will to win making them just as dangerous as the big boys. They also made it very hard by being very organised and parking the bus almost. No easy games. England earned their "easier" draws by winning their opening games and topping their groups which helps to be on better side of the draw. Before Southgate they rarely did that. You make your own luck!

So it's not luck? The plan was always to score a last second overhead kick? The plan was always to let shaqiri nearly knock us out with a corner? The plan was always to let Denmark out play us? Why not just plan to score a couple of goals and win the game? Why is he doing this to us, if he has any sort of control over things? Bringing on Ivan Toney with 90 seconds left proves that Gareth is just panicked and winging it and we are getting through this tournament on sheer player quality alone.

Dont compare jude slovakia performance with sakas against swiss! Jude was vert poor against slovakia apart from that. Worldie moment Whereas saka was englands best player even without that goal but that worldie goal was like iceing on the cake !

Form doesn't seem to matter because of players like Saka and Bellingham carrying the likes of Foden and Kane. Southgate is lucky to have these players. Should Saka do the business Kane and co will get all the glory. Should they fail Saka and co will get attacked as usual. Help Saka by droppinh the fans favourites and play Tony and Palmer

As far as the team selection goes, Foden has been less than useless - often gets in the way. Doesn't know what to do out of Pep's system and imho looks lost. I'd say Kane had second worst performance, but Foden has played almost every minute of the tournament and done pretty much nothing. Crosses are often bad, shots off target if he ever takes on, gets in other players' way, was even complaining to Saka to pass him the ball in the seconds before Saka scored. He's England's starboy, so won't be criticized or highlighted enough, and certainly won't be replaced, but he should be.
