My uncle started a club called knaresborough Celtic , a small village about 20min from leeds. He is a massive Celtic fan . Last time I was back he showed me a letter he received from Brendan Roger's praising him for his efforts . I am a rangers fan by the way haha

Great feature, my cousin and uncle played for CM Celtic and my dad for one game. The stone circle aka Kinneside stone circle is suspected as being a frake and built by a local farmer c1800's. Celtic were indead formed by Irish Catholic miners that came to Cleator mid 1800's to work in the mines, so many that the town was nicknamed Little Ireland. Celtic had an affiliation with the Glasgow team and used to receive the Scottish sides old kits. From time to time some Glasgow Celtic fans have made pilgrimage to CM to watch Celtic. There is still a big Celtic supporting population in the town.

My aunt and uncle used to live in the village but they were rugby fans. Unfortunately never got the chance to see CM Celtic play but they did live beside Dion Dublins family who are from the area 🍀

My team QPR used to play in green and white hoops in very old days are they had a Irish back ground in Queens park area of London

Hiya Sam, Cleator Moor is 5 miles from where I live, Tony Caig, Scott Carson and Dion Dublin's cousin's (Duke and Eddie)went to the same school as me, besides that I've never been to a Cleator Moor Celtic game in my life, if you're coming down to Cumberland you should go to Workington Reds and Cleator Moor Celtic in the same weekend if at all possible, Workington reds got expelled in 1977 from the football league, when Wimbledon came in, sorry about Greggs being shut, Cleator Moor is called Little Ireland, there's loads of Irish name's from Cleator Moor, like O'Reilly, Kelly and Monaghan,I cant believe how many viewings this vlog has had, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England

Sometimes, going to small grass-roots clubs which are not well-known outside their own communities, makes very interesting videos. The metal sculptures in the town centre were interesting, too. I look forward to your returning some day when a match actually goes ahead at Cleator Moor.

Fantastic video mate, love these lesser known stadiums. If you can I recommend you get yourself to the outer Hebrides in Scotland and check out Eriskay FC. The pitch is mental 🤣 they play in the green and white hoops aswell and although the pitch is terrible it's officially recognised by FIFA. It's a mission to get there but the island is stunning and the locals are amazing 👍🍀 Took my lad there on a pilgrimage last year as we're both Tim's the manager let us have a kick about on the park.

Stone circles were popular among the ancient Cumbrians. If you go back around 2000 years when Britain as we know it now was split into different ‘ethnic’ groups, the ancient kingdom of Cumbria stretched from around greenock/gourock north of glasgow all the way down encompassing modern wales. These would have been built for ceremonial/celestial purposes or sacrificial.

I live down near Heathrow and I was planning to take my uncle up there to see a game but the weather is a massive issue for such a journey. He loves West Cumbria and came across this ground a while back. New year maybe. Thank you for posting this the video.

In the great tradition of stickers on urinal cisterns in away end toilets, I remember seeing in 1998 a sticker from the Glasgow Stalybridge Celtic Supporters Club on the cistern in the bogs at the away end of Yeovil Town.

There is also stalybridge Celtic and Stafford Rangers. THey don’t have any connection with the Glasgow teams but I know the Celtic and Rangers fans used to go down and support them when they played in the Vauxhall conference. Stalybridge play in blue.

From memory as a kid Celtic fans English team would be either somewhere they have family/links to or Liverpool,Everton(liverpool because of Dalglish and Everton because they share songs with them and Moyes was the manager)

There used to be a club called Celtic Nation based in Carlisle, who played in the Northern League (English Tier 9). Their owner pumped a load of money in so they could attract ex-professionals (Tier 4-5 standard players) but pulled his investment after 2 seasons so they folded.

i think stone circles were places of gathering or schooling areas from prehistoric settlements.... of course many things can be taught by these glyphs. I would say by it's positioning it has more to do with measuring the lunar equinox so some sort of Celtic magic went on there at one point in history, that's for sure.

What about Farsley Celtic FC. It's a football club in the National League North. It's in between Bradford and Leeds. It's a good non league game to go to however I recommend coming in good weather, it has shelter but if you want to be with the main fans with heart for this club you have to stand without shelter. Highly recommend going 👍
