After a natural catastrophe that pitted the most fearsome warriors in the fight for resources and territory, the bloodthirsty warlord Apollyon believes the people of the Knights, Vikings, and Samurai have grown weak and wants to create an age of all-out war through manipulation of each faction. To this end the perspectives of characters within each faction are shown as events are shaped, battles are waged, and agendas are created as Apollyon works to ensure continuous sparks of conflict between the Legion, the Warborn, and the Chosen.
MY THOUGHTS ON THE CAMPAIGN:
The story is pretty average, and the gameplay never switches up. It's an repetitive loop of fights. That being said, the game's focus is clearly multiplayer. As a sort of add-on campaign, it's not bad. It took about 6 and half hours to beat on normal, and the story is interesting enough to keep you engaged for a short time. The characters are pretty bland though. The main charm of the game's setting is seeing these iconic warriors fight each other. The fighting system is also addictive and fun. It all comes down to timing. Overall I would give the story mode a 7 out of 10. If you're looking to buy this game strictly for it's story mode, then look elsewhere. But as a side thing, the campaign does what it needs to.
