[For Learners & New Drivers] - Don't feel intimidated!!

The first half of this clip, it looks to me like a very new or very nervous Learner Driver. And as I still consider myself a fairly new driver, I like to give Learners a bit of space (as we've all been there right??) But the second half of the clip focuses on the impatient driver in the silver/grey Volvo behind me - Look how close they get to me, trying to intimidate me to go faster!! Yet they had plenty time/space to overtake. I didn't overtake the Learner, as I was about to turn right a few yards along the road anyway.

I don't blame them. While giving a learner space is commendable, driving at 13mph on a roundabout and 35mph in a 60 zone will irritate other drivers.

I get that, but if the volvo was in such a hurry, they had plenty time to overtake me (and then the learner) if they wanted - but I wasn't prepared to stress the Learner out, as I was about to turn right a bit further up, so it would have been pointless 😊👍

What crap logic. Doing 35 on a 60 limit (not 60 zone) does not justify tail gating and increasing the risk. If they want to pass they can, if not then drive accordingly. Would he drive that close at 35 with a 30 limit? Unlikely but they see fit to intimidate and create risk because the limits changed. The space this driver was leaving was probably to mitigate that risk not to benefit the learner, exactly what I would do in that situation.

what makes the cammer think the Volvo driver is impatient? They just drove close to the cammer, some people drive like that. It is as if they think, if they leave a big gap to the vehicle in front they are losing time.

Well they drove like this for another few minutes along this road, weaving in & out possibly looking for an opportunity to overtake? Yet they chose not to? I turned off to the right just shortly after the clip ended and they both went straight on - just hope the volvo driver didn't do the same to the Learner - these kind of drivers used to freak me out when I was learning. 😖

Not a typical Volvo driver. If its not a Honda miles ahead crawling along holding up traffic then it will be a Volvo.

also on this video, to back up the claims from a previous comment. It's actually an offense to go too slow. Although by logic going slower is safer, Not when on a 60 mph national speed limit road. If you're vehicle can reach 60 there's no reason what so ever you should be going over half the speed limit. especially when going 10 mph on a roundabout. "You could get away with a verbal warning from a police officer, or, in extreme circumstances, receive penalties for careless and inconsiderate driving or even dangerous driving. Additionally, if a claim is made, your insurance policy could also be invalidated."
