It was in a side/rear accident and then stripped out. I was lucky enough to receive it and rebuild it!
95k miles, VIN#: 5UXFB93582LN78959
This Engine is located in Vestal, NY for local pickup or may be shipped for $300 east coast, $400 west coast. Will not ship international.
-Every single part cleaned, scrubbed, brushed, aluminum oxide blasted, and detailed.
-Full rebuild of the timing chain guides
-Inspected all wear items including cams. They look perfect
-Timing performed with GAS kit (Can Include in sale for +$250)
-New NGK spark plugs, valley pan kit
-New water pump, seals, gaskets
-New front and rear main seals
-Full conversion to RWD (oil pans, dipstick, oil pump/chain)
-PCV system converted using stock 4.6is Valve Covers
-Completely cleaned and detailed, painted valve covers
-Comes with Automatic Transmission Ring-Gear attached.
-Will include Aluminum M12x1.5 Bung + Coolant Sensor for Engine Swap!
Comes with DME, EWS module, Key, even the steering column with tumbler!

Beautiful job! The GAS kit comes highly recommended by me as well. Better pricing, beautiful machining, and if you do as the kit designer instructs, you will never have an issue with the camshaft reluctor wheel timing ever (when viewing camshaft adaptations when running via a scan tool or perhaps inpa?) I just use a scan tool.

This would be a great swap into a classic E chassis. E24 E30 E31 E38 E36 maybe E46. What would have caused the timing chain guide to shatter like that? Poor design or just age?

I would check the rod bearings as the engine could have had low oil pressure due to the bits of guide in the oil pump screen

Sorry for asking 6 months later , but would the rwd (e39) sump fit over the x5 oil pump? Or did you have to change the pump/pickup to get it to fit?. In the middke of putting the same engine in my 83 e30.

Hi Frank, my 2003 BMW X5 4.6is motor died. I think the oil pump went bad causing no oil to go to the engine. I wish you still had this engine for sale. Do you know what other engine manufacture I can fit into my 2003 BMW X5 4.6is. I can't find another working engine for sale, but I would consider putting in a different engine in if it worked.
