Elegant bird feeder made from scrap... or buy a couple of 1 X 4 X 8' boards if you want... a few supplies from the big box store and you are ready to go. I spent less than $10 and have since seen bird feeders this size for sale at stores for $80 or more! And they are not nearly as nice!
Mitered corners on the base, a little angled detail on the side pieces, and acrylic panels to hold the seed and let you see when the feeder needs to be refilled are design highlights. I made mine out of cedar because it is naturally bug and decay resistant and it weathers to a nice grayish brown color over time, but you can make this bird feeder out of any kind of material... just don't use "treated" lumber... it's not good for the birds.
In part one we lay the groundwork by building the base and gluing up the panels for the sides. In part two, we build the roof, cut the acrylic panels, and make the hanging system. This design lends itself well to making multiple copies, so build 2, or 3, or more. This bird feeder will be a joy in your garden and will make a great gift for every bird-lover on your list.

Hey Steve, absolutely LOVE this birdfeeder, one of the best I've seen. I don't have access to wifi in my shop, at least not yet, so it's difficult to watch the video and make the project at the same time, is there any chance you can create a PDF of instructions and materials/cut list? Otherwise, I have to try to remember all the little details of this build. Thanks

I like the sound at the end. The volume wasn't quite as loud but it was clearer and easier to listen to. Great project too. I might just have to make one or two!

Hi Steve! The new audio is nice and clean, with no echo. The music in the end credits came in a little hot, though - the volume just needs some balancing. Great project idea. My two-year-old loves bird watching in the backyard, and I’m going to build this feeder for us!

Hi Steve. I really enjoy watching your videos and have even recommended you to my KZfaq viewers. This is a great little project that would be fun to make. The new Rode Go sounds good but, as others have stated just needs some tweaks in volume. You could try just placing it a little closer to your mouth. I’ve been considering one myself but have other things to buy for my shop first.

Not sure whether I like the new audio. I might be reaching to turn up the volume. Good project. I'll be getting some cedar for a different project real soon so I'll have some of those scraps.
