For the Love of Pugs is a half hour documentary by Joe Woollen of JPW FILMS starring Bubblebeccapugs, Henry the Pug, Pugs York and East Coast Pugs. It is a film made for Pug lovers around the world!
Between 2005 and 2014, the popularity of Pugs in the UK has skyrocketed. This documentary explores the reasons behind the Pug boom as we meet some of the breed’s biggest fans.

I've been a pug addict since 2001. Both of my babies are gone now, but I still love them as though they are still with me. They are amazing, and surprisingly healing creatures. Loved this film.

Inbreeding is causing this entire breed to suffer and many are killed in the process. The demand for desired flat face and cute traits in pugs are what drive breeders to inbreed these pugs for maximum profit. A pug parent is bred with its own offspring and genetic deffects and severe health issues are the product of such inbreeding. The puppies that are defective are killed and many others suffer painful lives. The good puppies are the ones that are kept for sale and thats how you end up with your adorable pug. This is causing the breed as a whole to decline rapidly from a health standpoint due to high demand and inbreeding. Veterinarians wont speak out bc pugs are very profitable as it can cost tens of thousands of dollars to maintain a typical pug over its lifetime. Pug enthusiasts and breeders are single handedly causing the suffer and death of thousands of pugs every day

Nice documentary, i liked the different stories. "No dogs programs allowed because they just go mental at the tv." Haha, i think most of the pug owners know that situation.

I remember the first time I saw a Pug. I was six years old and had recently moved to the suburbs from Chicago proper. One day, I was playing in the driveway with the boy who lived next door. He pointed at a couple walking in the distance and said, "You have to look at this dog's face! It looks like a Gremlin or an Ewok. It's so scary!" I silently asked myself, “A scary dog? Dogs aren’t scary. Or are they?” Cowardice overcame acuity as I meekly put my hands over my eyes and peered out through the spaces between my fingers. The small creature came into focus and I hesitantly looked directly into the black wrinkled face of the beast. I was confused. It was certainly weird looking, but not exactly scary. I needed a closer inspection. After several more encounters with the strange animal, I mustered up enough gumption to approach the couple. I sputtered, “Eh… excuse me, what kind of dog is that?” They replied, “This is a Pug. Her name is Millie and she’s very friendly.” I bent down to pet Millie’s velvety soft ears and delighted in the silly sounds streaming from her smooshed snout. I was smitten. Thirty years later and I am a proud Pug momma. We owners are a strange breed, but this short documentary does an exceptional job of explaining why we feel so passionately about Pugs.

My sister had trouble leaving for the house for almost 2 year, we decided to get her a puggle (pugxbeagle) and it's been the best thing to ever happen in her life :) The pug personality shines through and makes our lives so happy everyday seeing her beautiful face!

love this film thanks for making it, my pug mimi saved my life back in 2007 i was at rock bottom and ready to end things, myself and my dad had been to crufts early in that year and i got to see the discover dogs section i saw this guy with this tiny bundle of tan and black in his arms, i went over and asked about it i knew it was a pug and asked about the breed he gave me the puppy to cuddle and i fell in love with the breed instantly and for the first time in a long time i felt happy i found myself smiling i was sad to leave, by November i was at a loss, on the 13th my parents went out and came back late they came back with a tiny fawn 9wk old pug puppy which i named Mimi, i realised then i had a reason to live again, she not only changed my life she saved my life, she's my world, my best friend, my life and i dedicate it to spoiling her and making her happy, she's 8 now and we're so happy together and have so much fun she makes me laugh and smile everyday, since she came into my life i haven't looked back x

It's just the best coming home from work, having 3 seconds to say "Hi" to my wife and my daughter, before our second sunshine Comes tail waggin around the corner, to say "FINALY YOUR HOME!" :-D Best Dog Ever. Just love him. Oh and Survival Rule Nr.1: Never, NEVER kneel when a group of pugs is near you => cuddle to death :-D

I never bought a pug on cuteness and all that crap my sister owned one and i looked after it when they went on holidays but i fell in love with him so much and just had to have one of my own. So i bought Odie from the pug club and he is my ulitmate friend odie i love him so much!!! I will never live without a pug he is better company than a girlfriend hahahaha!!!

they are the most Amazing creature you will ever have in your life... they are amazing, they are a one person dog but they love everyone. when i explain to ppl that they are a one perosn dog they think of the mean little poodles or the ones that bite but i say NOOOO they will never .. they are soo amazing thats all i can say. but i have converted.... atleast 9 ppl into pug owners

My Dalmatian started having neurological problems - losing his balance. I put him on coconut oil and he pulled out of it. This happened three times and he pulled out of it each time. At one point, the brain was satiated with this good fat and he rarely has to take It not. I'm not saying it will help anything, but please give it a try. I tried it because it is said to, among other things, help dementia in people.

omg amazing watching Henry omg i just started crying cause i know pugs love hard and fast. and love to love.. and im a 35 year old man lol ..i have never met a mean pug ive had pugs in my life for some 25 years.. alls i know is they have always showed this amazing ability to give you what you want or need with out a word, i have my Rosie shes about 10 shes a rescue and i tell her she has to live forever cause I cant deal with her leaving me.. .ever she is my heart www.homewardboundpugs.com/ pug rescue in Oklahoma some stores will brake your heart

They are high maintenance. I rescue old pugs. I have to wipe ass after going outside. I have to burp him after meals or he vomits. He can't negotiate more than one low step. Clean his face wrinkles and his dent. Cutting nails is 1-2 while he's sleeping. They all get collapsed trachea and end up coughing near nonstop. The eye boogies The seizures The cuddles The friendship The love Old pugs don't "dog" but man they're the best company

Pugs have trouble with the heat however there is a pug rescue in Texas and you can get one low cost.
