Still my favorite baseball movie of all time. Yes, I love Bull Durham, and The Natural, and Field of Dreams, too -- but this movie and its portrayal of one meaningless game for one awful team at the end of a season says so many things about why we love this game. The cat and mouse of a big AB; the excitement that can come with each and every single pitch in a tense situation; the drama between players who have managed to get to the top of a sport everyone one of us played at some point growing up. Yes, we've all likely felt that feeling John C. Reilly articulated so well here: “'Cause Billy, we don’t stink right now!” What a glorious feeling in a glorious sport.

Man I miss her. Loved that movie and many of the other ones she did. So beautiful and talented. RIP Kelly.😢

I know this is dumb, but I just watched this movie again for about the 10th time, in tribute to Ms Preston. The entire time I was thinking of her and her family and crying often. This is one of my favorite movies, along with fried green tomatoes, probably for much the same reasons. Rest in peace Ms. Preston.

I'm a big movie buff, but for some reason, I never knew of this flick. Just watched it. Then watched 2 more times. Loved it. Yea, I know they didn't really play baseball. But for this 60 yr old baseball fan, I really enjoyed it. It's a Hollywood movie, a fable. And for this old softy, a great romantic ending. Costner is always great. Never saw a Preston movie before, but she ROCKS!

Such a great actress and unquestionably beautiful even as she got older. Kelly appeared in the last few episodes of CSI Cyber Season 2 which was foolishly cancelled by CBS after that. She played a former Secret Service agent who was about to get into a serious relationship with Ted Danson's character. The chemistry between them was definitely there but, alas, we never got to find out how it would have gone.
