Travis picking normally has thumb play 4 5 6 strings, with index finger on 3rd, middle on 2nd and ring on 1st, I am fingerpicking beginner but I guess in this is kind of a loose rule and depends on the song?

Exactly, i'd say it's a pretty loose rule. The higher strings can also be travis picked. In my mind at least it means a consistent rhythmic thumb pattern on the lower notes, with a melody on top. I admit it's a stretch to call this one Travis picked.

Hey Mike….been listening to Blaze’s Blue a lot lately and watched a couple KZfaq videos. What would it take to get a lesson on this channel for that song? I’ve really enjoyed your Townes & Blaze lessons, especially Pancho & Lefty and Big Cheeseburgers, and this would be a perfect addition….it’s so different than most of Townes fingerpicking. Love your channel dude !

appreciate that Jason and glad you're getting value from the channel. This has been requested before and I'm confused. The studio version is an electric blues song with a distorted guitar riff. I'm not really venturing into that territory on the channel. At least not yet, still have lots of things to tackle. unless there's some version of this song i'm unaware of that's fingerpicked...?

you're welcome. Yeah, man. I understand. I do my best to not overthink delivery and just be myself. It will naturally annoy some, but you can't win em all!
