I'm really trying to understand, the omniscience of your production, the amount of programming, the knowing of what to bring in and what to lessen. It goes to show years of your work and exploration, dedication, and passion to develop a masterpiece like this. Your other stuff too shines the same This is another pinnacle of electronica inspiration.

@EhsanGelsi4 жыл бұрын
I know I need to move on, I think about it all the time, but it's such a satisfying bass sound innit!!! I save it a few ways so I can recall different levels of BEOWWW for dynamics and have the triggered s&h filter versions for when it needs to really drive along and it just writes itself! Thanks - I never demoscened myself but I love that shit.

That is really good man. I wonder how do you approach composition. You choose a key in particular regularly? I find your sound very distinctive.
@EhsanGelsi4 жыл бұрын
I guess I do pick a key when I start, but then it's game on from there, I try to keep it spicy by moving from, around and back to the original key to create the tension and release through the sets. It's part music composition, part amateur math quiz, part paint by numbers. I love it! Thx for tuning in :)

Which effects do u use here? Great on the pro one lead , but all the panning/phasing etc on the pad halfway trough, is that summit on board effects?

@datisookzo4 жыл бұрын
Ehsan Gelsi man, your tracks and patterns are out of this world. Never a dull tone, really great patterns, minor scales, just really great, and i love how the melodic arp tones tend to blend in the paddy ambient of the summit , or is that also an effect on the pro one doing that tail? By the way, what is ridgey didge?

@alyxandriarichard70764 жыл бұрын
how do you get so much out of your effects? i feel as if whenever I use delay or reverb the sound is extremely muddy and the parts of the original timbre i loved so much get drowned out.
@nebula06974 жыл бұрын
I feel you, reverb is hard, sometimes best avoided. some pedals/plugins make it easier than others. Sometimes use just a touch of reverb to get the harshness out of a sound but like it doesn't sound like it's actual reverb. If using mics try to see what the actual room sounds like and if that reverb will do and remember it will compete with a reverb on a pedal and change its tone as opposed to going direct into daw with that stomp box. for ambient etc textures almost defined by reverb the key there is to reduce the harmonies and melodies to a strict minimum of voices and spread them out on the keys. also for this same genre of music reduce the note events. let the long crazy morphing reverb do their magic on single notes or two-note intervals. do not use reverb on bass especially when chord above it is complex. try slapback delay instead of reverb. get the mix perfect before adding reverb to the tracks, ask yourself if reverb will be necessary at all. don't add reverb to a mix. less is more except if you're making cathedral canyon shimmery stuff. The smaller one of the strymon reverb pedals, the one without the screen, is definitely sweeter to my ears. try all the aforementioned rules then break them.

Nice What Is Your audio interface❓
@EhsanGelsi4 жыл бұрын
No audio interface - it's all just recorded straight out of the headphone output on the mixer into the line-in on the side of my camera, a little cheapo Zoom Q2n.
@BargenMusic4 жыл бұрын
Ehsan Gelsi oh come on, it sounds great! No compression or limiter?
@EhsanGelsi4 жыл бұрын
@@BargenMusic I'm using the SSL bus compressor on the mixer, and using the 2 channel compressors and EQ's on channels 1&2 to spice up the Digitakt. Beyond that I just hard limit and give a bit of turd polish broad EQ lifting the highs and lows on the stereo file in the video software when I chop it down - that's it!
