They instituted in the constitution provisions to prevent this so the Congress would be required to make such an appointment. Congress has NO role in approving special counsel for 50 years, and this was clarified through the Ethics in Governments act of 1999. Cases have ruled on this subsequently, confirming the same. @@teekay_1 The senate doesn’t advise the eligibility of a nomination, which is clear because the constitution says the president “shall nominate” justices. The senate’s advisory role occurs when they interview the nominee, and the senate’s consent occurs when they approve or deny the nomination.

Yeah, there's actually so much concern about it that they're using AI like crazy to create dissent and misinfo here in the YT comments and especially Yahoo News comments! You can see commenters appealingly engaging 1 on 1 in really in-depth ways which 2 humans conversing never do, and not so quickly. These AI comments are very wordy and go on all night or all day long.
