Over a year ago I was offered a great position but I straight out said I am not ready to take it. You can grow me into it, but right now I would rather take an assistant to that position (which I initially applied to) as I still need guidance and much to learn. I don't regret it. I know it would choke on it. But sadly I have seen people who took nice positions just to get the better office and pay without having a leg to stand on. They ride the backs of their fellow employees having no real understanding why the shit goes down. I asked one of my bosses once - Why you don't want to get involved in what I'm doing or learn what it is and how it's done, someone needs to check my work if I'm doing it right. He said he's got faith in me. To that I said I can get my most necessary job done in 40 mins a day and the rest of the time I can fake hard work and show all the reports I'm working on and he would never know it's something that's been completed weeks ago. He said his main job is to keep the team's spirit up. Imagine what kind of spirit people have when do their job and his job on regular basis, or when they come to him with questions and he tells to send an email to another branch and ask how they handle these issues.

He volunteered for it lol, I don't feel bad for him at all. He's a worm.
