This video shows replacement of the glow plug indicator on a Ford 1700 tractor. The indicator is in series with the glow plugs, so when the heat element wire failed, the glow plugs were inoperable. The part was available from Messicks, but expensive. The indicator could be bypassed by connecting the wire from the ignition switch directly to the wire to the glow plugs for a quick (free) fix.
