I grew up working on one of these with my dad. We put a fresh engine in when I was 19 and then put a 750 backhoe attachment on it. Small world! First tractor I ever drove too. I recently picked up a Ford 5550 backhoe for my own place. I’m almost done overhauling the engine.

Thanks for the good video, i got a 1965 Ford 2.9L 3-cyl diesel for about 7 years, but it still needed a lots of works.

aj once you own a tractor you never go bacack to being without one ford tractors can with care give decades of service,, wise choice my friend great job .

I got one of these though 3 cyl gas 4 speed single with loader, local public schools had for auction I but 1250 on it and got it. Had power steering leak had to rebuild the steering coulumn ended up leaking again though I think the shaft is pitted though hoped would be ok. Front tires are not the best either. I think i spent like 250 more in parts, paint, etc. for it and rewired it as had neutral interlock bypassed and tack does not work sense was retrofit to an alternator. This is my first tractor i own, i ran one some my family had in my teens big 55HP mahindra but I really didn't like using it was hard to run clutch, and was kind of afraid of it.

Did you have any problems sourcing parts and what third party vendors did you use? i found one not locked up, but it was parked for no one knows why and infested with mice deterioration everywhere. Trying to figure out what's worth. J. May

What’s the difference between the Ford 3400 and a Ford 340?

I have same set up and want to know if you can put the backhoe on the tractor with 3 point hitch on. Does the 3 point hitch need to be removed ?
