I ported a set of 2V heads in the 80's. I raised my exhaust .100 and .050 on each side as well, but did not know about port stuffers back then. I put the 4V valves in them and removed a ton of metal from the bowl areas. You answered many questions I have had all these years about how good they really were. Those heads screamed! Thanks guys! 😃

Great video on the 2V capabilities. If I wasn't so dam old I would do a comparison of the fully ported 2V I'm running now vs the bowl and port matched 2V Aussie heads vs the stock 4V quench heads.

Gearbanger, that would be an interesting comparison between those 3 popular head choices. I’m pretty damn old and tired too but I try not to let it interfere with my enjoyment of all things Cleveland related 👍👌🏁🏁🏁.

@@danielwilson6665 I may consider it once I get the truck out of the body shop and figure out how to get what power I have to the ground. As it is with the 4sp and 3:91 gears it's a tire burner.

That exhaust flow was with a pipe attached which always shows higher numbers and alot of that extra 70hp would have been from just going from open camber to closed camber but still nice heads

Right on, I’m sure they flow heads all in the same or similar fashion between shops🤷🏻‍♂️, the big 225cc version was tested on a 4.1” bore which makes a difference compared to the 195cc being tested on a 4.030 tube, forgot to mention that in the vid……. But hey they do have the slight upper advantage over a set of ported oem 2Vs at the end🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏼🏁

🥝✔️ Bob Kotmel found the same thing. Right up to the 490 HP net on the COME Racing Issy and Sam Blumstien dyno back in the Noughties, modified 2V Closed chambers and an early version of the single plan Parker Funnelweb style intake. Your info is golden, 69Janks

Another well done comparison video, my friend 👍. I agree that with the proper CNC machine work, the OEM 2-V iron heads have great potential. But I still think that you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit. The TFS aluminum 2-V heads would always be my choice because of all the reasons that you explained in this video. Now I need to find a large piece of bread to make a iron head chicken shit sandwich 💩😂😉.

@@69JANKS … I especially like the comparison done between the poured casting molds of the internal 2-V and 4-V exhaust port dimensions. I never realized the 2-V exhaust port had such a smooth transition over the “hump” that really hurts the flow so badly in the stock 4-V exhaust ports. Well done. Now back to making that iron 2-V chicken 💩sandwich. 😁

I've got a 351 with the 195cc TF heads and the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake. I wonder what the power difference would be swapping to the TF single plane intake?
@69JANKS
@69JANKS 6 ай бұрын
That will depend on the combination you have, air gab is pretty good up to a hot street combo 👌🏼🏁
@dennisrobinson8008
@dennisrobinson8008 3 ай бұрын
Air gap is actually pretty awesome to 6500-7000 rpm. In the EFI days you would always see the EFI intakes making more low to mid range torque than even dual plane carb intakes... The air gap at least on the Chevy LS makes comparable and sometimes slightly MORE low to mid range torque than the popular EFI intakes for that and it makes more top end power. So Edelbrock really thought that design out and it's very good.

Can i ask why you CNCed the early 2V cast low port heads and not the later polution cast higher intake port vertion. I never use the early pprepolution type, they are just to thin walled to get a good port job out off. Mike

If you are building for the street, I would switch to a Aluminum, they will be a little down on flow, but the aluminum does a better job of Cooling, the Aluminum transfers heat much better, it also weighs 35 pounds less a head!! The other advantage is, nobody has built a Intake manifold in the last 45 years For the Cleveland 4v. any new design are For the 2 V Head.
