Ford Bronco Slide Out Tailgate | Install & Overview

The holidays are here and I got to install the new Ford Bronco Slide Out Tailgate on my 23 Ford Bronco. This can be had as a factory option on some Bronco models or purchased and installed separately as a Ford Accessory like I did. A bit pricey, but added a bit of functionality that the Bronco was missing.

My Wildtrak came with that slide out and I didn’t realize how much I needed one! We use it everyday for all kinds of things, in fact I wouldn’t have Bronco without it. Thank you for this video as I now know how it is installed

I was sitting here looking at my dream board and on it is the Ford Bronco. I go to sign in to do my meditating and your video is the first to pop up. I love this slide out just upped desire to obtain this vehicle even more! A great addition that can be used in so many ways! Have a blessed day😊

I know I’m a little late, but when you fold your seats down, does it sit flush with the back of them? I’m wanting to order this but questioning fitting my Ruffland XL. Thanks for the video!

Yep, you just slide out the tailgate and then lift up the new "cargo floor" to get access to the two storage areas underneath.The jack area is a bit tighter with this installed, but I can still get everything in and out.

Why wouldn’t you be able to do both, slide + drawer. Is that not possible?

I personally don't know of a solution to have both. So this is the ideal setup for me. I hope to see even more aftermarket solutions over time though!

Can you still get to the jack storage after installation?

Yep, you just have to slide the tailgate out and then lift the cargo floor up to access either of the storage areas down there.

TrailRax Half Rack. Pretty good rack for mounting a couple of cargo boxes or transporting a large ground tent. I did have some trouble with TrailRax fulfillment though. They sent the wrong parts a couple times, but they did eventually get it sorted out.

I'm considering the tailgate slide but i don't understand why Ford would just fiction fit the floor back in. Losing this tie downs is a big deal if you need to secure your load. Other than that i think this is a great product

Agreed, an interesting design choice. You do get new solid tie down points that are integrated into the tailgate track though. Those remain even with the new floor removed.

Zero rattles so far. It locks in place pretty solid when closed so I'm hopeful that it will remain that way.

Yes it does sit flush to create an almost flat load floor (the folded seats have a slight incline to them)

I have mine installed from the factory and it rattles like crazy. Enough so that I want to replace it with regular cargo carpet since I don't use the slide out at all.
