You're too worried about the dollar value you can get back when you're already getting enjoyment, mobility, solace and peace of mind from the ride. No offense, but you sound like a Harley owner. I've never purchased a motorcycle thinking what my resale value would be. Ride safe.

I love my F3S for back road cruising but I have found that without a windshield at speeds above 65 MPH it sorta does my neck a number. Have only had it for about a month at the time and have about 1000 miles on it. Windshield will be my first big addition.

Just about to go out on my F3-S in southwest Portugal - I am a retired Brit. The standard footpeg position is fine for my 33'' inside leg. I can stretch my legs out and rest my heels on the pegs on long, quiet roads if I wish. I never contact the fuel tank when getting on or off. I never use cargo nets. I always ride with my 25-litre Shad bags in place. I think the OE mirrors are fine. I keep my phone in my pocket. The background music is distracting.

Of course you can tour on an F3-S. I have done on my 2019 model: 2,000-mile trip from southwest Portugal to northern Spain and back. Two Shad 35-litre side bags and a 63-litre Ventura bag slotted over my rider's backrest. I have had the Ventura bag since 1996 when it went over a generic loop on a model-specific frame on my BMW R1100GS. I later slotted it over the Triple Tail on my Buell XB12X Ulysses. I have done 270,000 miles on conventional two-wheeled motorcycles, but I prefer my F3-S. I never use the cruise control. Touring, I get 43/44 MPG, but that's the British gallon which is bigger than the US one, and I'm not riding fast. Are those Icon gloves? Good video. Nick

Love your channel, recent subscriber. I had a 2018 CanAm Spyder RT limited for 4 1/2 years. Really enjoyed it, after riding motorcycles for past 15 years. I sold the RT last fall. Waited for the 2024 models to arrive and very soon plan to get either an F3, possibly the S series, or F3T. Availability is still an issue. Will also try the new RT. Ride safe.

My 'training course' was picking up a used Ryker 600 about an hour before dark, and riding it almost a hundred miles home. Obviously I stayed off the freeways and wound my way through rural ways, twisty mountain roads and city streets. Kind of a hairy way to learn and not one I necessarily recommend, but it worked for me.... And by the way, California is one of only three or four states that allow you to drive three wheelers with just a standard class C driver's license. No motorcycle or three wheel endorsement needed....

You make great points. I bet the 2025-26 ranger raptor will come with those options but you will be in the mid to high 60s for a mid size. The f150 is pushing 96k already. You are spot on. How much did you pay on that f150 raptor and miles? Looks like a great buy. Congrats. My RR is being built in 2 weeks!
@3WheelKhalil
@3WheelKhalil Ай бұрын
I really hope they can bring that value and stay in the low 60s, but you are probably right on the money. This F150 Raptor ended up being 65k otd with 50k miles and ford warranty premium warranty until 100k. Without the warranty, I would be hesitant to recommend a used raptor of any kind tbh. Hope you enjoy your new Raptor! What color did you go for?

@@3WheelKhalil I will tell you I never considered a used gen 3 f150… kind of wish I did after watching this video but I live in north NJ where the prices on everything are still crazy inflated, especially raptors. I was able to find my RR Outside of Baltimore at msrp… went with Oxford white and the graphics, hyped for it. You made a great buy though, f150 raptors are goated

I agree with your interior assessment. A sun roof isn’t a big deal to me. I know in the F150s they need regular maintenance to keep the seals clean and supple otherwise they are going to have problems. The biggest issue on the Ranger Raptor is the lack of ventilated front seats! I live in the desert and run AC 4 months a year. The thought of sitting on those seats when it’s 115 outside and probably 130 on the inside of the truck is painful. Also no rear vents, it seems so corner cutting cheap. The back seats should have a split for all the reasons you stated. All that said, for the type of off roading I do the Ranger Raptor is a better option. It is narrower than the F150, so it will allow me to access more trails and not get as much AZ Pinstripes. Also it’s going to be better getting in and out of parking lots. It’s also 20k less expensive than the F150 and Bronco Raptors, so as far as the Raptor line up is concerned, a better value for the performance. Don’t get me wrong, the F150 Raptor is tge ultimate, and if I did more open road Baja style off roading it would be my top choice, but I like doing more trail running marking the Ranger the better platform.
@3WheelKhalil
@3WheelKhalil Ай бұрын
You're spot on. I think the Ranger Raptor is the better choice for the off-roading that most people do. Even though the Gen 3 Raptor feels fairly nimble for it's size, it is just much larger. I run with some guys who take modified F250s on trails with no issues here in GA, so I know it won't limit my ability to get out there. However, there is no doubt the Ranger Raptor is a better tool for that job. I just couldn't ignore the things that make the F-150 Raptor a better truck for my daily needs. And although I have loved trail riding, I'm excited to give the high speed off-road stuff a try. There are more and more groups putting on basically off-road tracks days for Raptor and TRX owners to test the limits of their rigs outside of Baja. But who knows, I really hope to see some of those interior design changes on a future Ranger Raptor, because I would strongly consider one again at that time. Especially once I have moved on from rear-facing car seats and all that. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

No, I went to dealer and they had a 900 on floor, I said “I’ll take it”. No test ride, just give me your best price and I’ll take it. When I went to pick it up they wanted me to take the 600 so they could keep the 900 for their “sales days event” I refused and drove the 900 home. I would have gotten the rally but the didn’t have one. This was in 2019 and Rykers were hard to come by.

I'm also coming from two wheels to three (vertigo). I do find the lack of power steering to be a bit unnerving, but at the same time, it's not like the motorcycle is just gonna suddenly veer way off center. I've been paying a bit more attention to my car at expressway speed and notice that it too does sway. It just takes getting used to. Quality of roads makes a big difference as well. Florida's roads are FAR better than Ohio's.

What's up, Khalil! Yeah, four years late to the conversation but better late than never right? Of all the amazing tips you shared across your many videos, there were a couple things you said that really stuck with me. One was buying an older model. I see that there are crazy discounts available for previous year models. The other thing you talked on was about the size of the rider. I'm a big dude and as such after hearing some of the things you said, I think if I went the Ryker route, the rally would be best for it's better suspension. I'd love to get a Spyder but, man, those things are pricy. However that does bring me back to your tip about buying an older model. All in all my heart is set on a Ryker Rally... for now. I plan to save up for a bike and as I do, I'll give the Spyder vs Ryker thing a lot of thought. For now I do dig the Ryker a lot. Thank you so much for all of the tips you share.
