Ford does shit ass backwards sometimes. "Let's make a transmission that is a bitch to be serviced" oOh yeah, if there's any issues let's make sure no one can easily check the fluid levels! Oh YEA LETS NOT HAVE A DIP STICK EITHER.

Very well done, sir. What a pain! Just hit 160k on an ‘03 and shifting is pretty harsh. Your video likely just saved my transmission and bank account. Thank you!

@tonsofguns59385 ай бұрын
@@pablolopez2884 Just drain and fill. A flush is likely to break metal shavings apart and cause issues. Unless it has been flushed regularly since day 1, it's not worth the risk

I am original owner of 02 explorer. I have changed Trans fluid at every 50,000 miles. Got 190000 miles and no problems. Best thing to do to keep the Trans running trouble free. Great advice...

So little? Seems you drained more than that. One way people do is to measure how much drained out and then fill the same amount in.

@@jrm163 Hell no. I think he meant 1.25 gallons. About 6 quarts. I have seen others use 5 quarts. He should have changed the filter too. Mine is a 2004 V-6 and I change it every 20K. Still going strong fingers crossed that it holds together - same for that 4.0 motor that has 4 timing chains and cassettes.

I don't think you got the level right. It is supposed to be drip.pause.drip.pause.drip - In your video yours was gurggling slowly but continuously. I would re-level your fluid since you probably have too much in there.
