Nice video. But I would never pay 7% for a truck or car. I purchased a new 3.5 Ecoboost Larit for $67K(80k MSRP) - 30K trade in. Still 600 a month car payment.

What was the maintenance cost? I think I missed it. For my 2021 Tesla I haven’t done any maintenance.

I think the bigger question is, "How much money is Ford loosing on the sale of each vehicle"? According to their 2nd quarter 2023 numbers it was estimated they lost around $60k per vehicle. Current numbers are a bit more conservative at $40k per vehicle. This explains why Ford sells so few....Because they can only afford to loose so much each year. It also gives you an idea of what it will be like as a Ford EV owner in the future. Getting parts or service for vehicles that no longer exist can be tough. I simply dont see any future support for Ford or GM electric vehicles because they STILL can't build them profitably.

You forgot about the $7500 rebate in your breakdown but pretty spot on! I just picked up my F-150 Lightning Pro this past month, which was similar in cost after add-ons. My payments are a little less than $1k for 48 months with a 6k down payment. I also was able to get at 2.9% financing.

It’s not a rebate. They won’t send you that in a check. It’s a tax credit. Meaning if you owe the IRS $500 after your taxes are filed, you get $500. Mine qualified for $4500 but I will only owe around $700-ish so that’s all I’m going to get.

There really isn't much of a cost the first few years. Washer fluid and tire rotations.

Someone that's own a lighting foralmost two years now, her maintenance cost are not in the realm of reality. My first year was... $189 And this year it's looking like it's gonna be since it's a little over half over 219

The maintenance costs for that EV are not even close to accurate. In the first year you will buy washer fluid and get 3 tire rotations. Many dealers will include these in the deal so it could actually be free. Everything else is covered under warranty. Hope this helps. Good video overall.

That’s still what one should probably still be saving for maintenance. Especially if you’re keeping the vehicle past warranty period. Batteries can usually be repaired or replaced with refurbished units out of warranty, so they’re not as shocking high to replace as many people say, but these repairs can still be an unexpected issue. My EV has has suspension issues which can be an easy grand here and there. Still much lower maintenance costs, but I didn’t change my maintenance budget from my ICE car, and it’s actually been really nice. I’ve been able to ceramic coat it, buy higher quality tires that are dead silent and just generally keep it in better shape than my previous cars.

@@NotAFingBootlicker Totally, I’ve been keeping an eye on repairs. Rich Rebuilds showed the cost of a battery repair. Tesla would only replace it, the electrified garage replaced the bad cells for $3k. Still a lot of money, but much better than what we’ve seen Tesla quote! Unfortunately ICE cars are getting stupid expensive to repair too. Major components are sometimes over $10k at a dealer. Luckily there’s a lot more local mechanics trained to handle them that are so much better in pricing. Because of that they are so much cheaper to repair still. Hopefully we’ll see the same for EV’s. Tesla and other dealers need competition when it comes to pricing.
