Thank you for showing this method of getting the drum off by removing those back bolts!! This looks so much more straight forward than prying from the front.

Hello nice video. Is there a way to access the brake-shoe adjuster from the outside? Some cars have the option through the back of the brake drum. Regards

How do I replace the shoe retaining pins on a focus mk2? I can get one pin out by simply using it through the back of the drum but one pin is blocked, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That's a bit of a puzzler...as you can see at 1'09" in the video, on our Focus MkII, the pins just slide out of the back plate. What's blocking yours?

@@davidhale2566 I just left the old pin in and replaced the rest, I think you'd need to remove or at least loosen the inner drum brake hub to get access to the blocked pin.

folks HELP!...my drum is seized to the axle shaft at the wheel bearing. the wheel bearing is inside the drum hub. my drum puller broke because of the torque used to try and remove the drum. any thoughts? i used a small hand torch to heat the bearing sleeve. it didn't work. what should i try next?

Sorry you're having trouble removing the brake drum. It can be difficult to get sufficient heat into the bearing sleeve, but 99% of the time, heat and a suitable puller will succeed. If necessary, remove the ABS wheel speed sensor, undo the bolts and remove the stub axle along with the drum. It should then be possible to use a hydraulic press to force the drum/bearing from the axle. Hope this helps!

By positioning the adjustment eccentric cam (3.15), set the brake shoes so they are as close together as possible. This will create maximum clearance between the shoes and the drum. When it's all refitted, when the brakes are applied, the mechanism will automatically adjust the clearance - although it may take a few applications to fully adjust them. Hope this helps!
