Unfortunately the internet provides a platform for malcontents and people looking to criticize others to make themselves feel good etc. You’re happy with your vehilce, it does what you need, want, and without wasting money. That’s known as intelligence. Great honest video.

I am with you. I have a 24 Lariat AWD with 4k tow. I paid $35k OTD and love this truck. It fits in my garage very nicely and easy to drive around in town. I am averaging 28 MPG. It can tow whatever I will want to tow and great for road trips. Already drove it on a 2500 mile trip and got 31pmg and half of the way the truck was completely packed with gear front and back. If it starts giving me issues I will trade it in before warranty is up. It comes with a 60K powertrain warranty and roadside assistance so no decision needs to be made before then.

@@BlitzHack How did you pay $35k OTD for a Lariat if the base MSRP is $34,855? This is not even including all of the other fees & 4k tow. Out the door, you're looking at $40k for your truck. There's no way you were able to get it for $5k less.

I got a '24 XLT with FX4, 4K tow, all-wheel drive. I'm getting 26 MPG back and forth to work in a rural area. That's not highway, that's regular street driving. This little truck is perfect for me and what I need. There was no reason to pay 70 plus grand for a V8 or a V6. I just didn't need it. This truck is perfect for me and my needs.

My 2022 Maverick XLT is equipped with XLT Luxury Package, Co-Pilot 360, and 2.0 Ecoboost engine. I’ve had it for 18 months and it has 16 thousand miles on it. I average 27mpg in town and 34mpg on the highway driving 75mph with the cruise on. Very happy with the truck and what I can do with it. I’ve owned F-250 & F-150 in the past but, at 71 years old and retired I don’t need the big truck anymore. I definitely would recommend the Maverick to anyone.

Been following since day one, cant believe its been 2 years already?! You've driven the maverick more than anyone else and have pushed it harder than anyone else. I'm surprised that Ford hasnt noticed this yet. This is a hell of a testament to how tough that lil bugger is. I really like your thoroughness in describing the interior, while also noting your height and then including that 6'7" giant. You've cover just about any base that anyone would need to make an informed decision, Daniel. Its very much appreciated.

@plmn93
@plmn93 3 ай бұрын
I disagree. Big trucks are more practical than ever. 1/2 tons can haul what it used to take a 3/4 ton to do while getting about the same gas mileage as midsize trucks. Midsize trucks are what became impractical IMO. The Maverick restored what a small truck should be, relatively inexpensive and efficient. That's why it's been so successful.

@@christopher9626 I'm 6'3" and I find the front seats of the Maverick more comfortable to sit in than the previous generation (2023) Ranger or a Ridgeline. Quite a bit roomier than I expected. Back seat is fairly cramped if I sit behind myself, but that's true of all midsize trucks. Comfort is subjective, of course, and I only sat in it in the showroom so I can't speak for long distance drives. But when two out of the three kids leave the house in a few years the Maverick is at the top of my list to replace my F-150.

There is something to be said for not buying new. I'm an old car guy from the 60s that did work in the motor industry for some years , I have had many cars , some good that cost me , some not so good . But one of the best cars of my life was a 400 dollar shit box that I bought as a no care car to leave at the truck depot on the weekend carry tools and tyres , etc. It was a beat up old 4 cylinder Toyota, rough as bags to look at but excellent mechanically. It was a reliable beater that I could drive any where , park anywhere and not give shit if someone car doored it , stole it , scratched it , backed into it.. On top of all that care free motoring , it was a stick shift and was actually fun to drive , it was a great little sedan , I later bought a Celica for parts and put an overdrive 5 speed in it to replace the 4 speed , mate it was a great little run around. One of the family turned 18 and passed the licence test , and on that day , I handed the keys over , and it went on to do a couple more years of good service until it was superseded and for something a bit more flash ( the younger ones are big on looks) . For 400 bucks outlay , this old beater did a huge service to our family. People waste so much coin these days on cars , and over the years I have been guilty of that too , but sometimes you do something different and find you don't always have to have the latest and greatest.

Hopefully my pessimism is unwarranted, but... As I was looking at one of these Mavericks, I noticed the electrically released fuel door. Then I wondered where the manual release was in the event of a failure. I peeked into the rear wheel well and I saw a green plastic thing which I tugged on and the door opened. Seriously, Ford? Bravo. Bravo. If there was ANYWHERE to cut costs, this is where it should be. If this was thought through with the same level of brain power as the rest of the vehicle, God help us with the rest of its problems 8 years from now. Under the hood, there were wire harness bulkheads lurking in the fender well on the driver's side. That may be fine if that inner fender material doesn't go to pot over time. But with how vehicles are used, its going to get bathed in salt an awful lot. Not a problem in southern California. They also went away with the rear opening window in the later models. Again, anyone with a pickup truck can vouch for how handy this is to have. Again, hopefully it's just pessimism. I have dicked with enough vehicles over the decades where I kinda see potential problems. But I also thought the capless fuel fillers were going to be a problem, but I was wrong.

I was *really* looking forward to maybe getting into one of these. Currently in a 2020 Ram 1500 4x4 Bighorn, was trying to trade in. The things that turned me away: The head unit problems. You can't replace these, they lock up, they're finicky, Bluetooth and everything appears to be hit or miss. Sounds very poor to me. The creaks, squeaks, rattles, and noise. A new car shouldn't require the new owner to strip the interior down to chase noises that should be addressed from the factory. The bed size. I primarily haul motorcycles around, from cruisers to sport/naked and dirt bikes. The bed just wouldn't fit the bill every time. The long term concerns. Towing, or anything that stresses that turbo like higher load hauling will cause problems down the road, because turbos don't last like an engine does. Yes it can be replaced, but my god does it look involved to get access to. Ugh. I want to love it, I really do. The head unit problems alone make me want to say no, because that's a quality of life downgrade you have to live with forever with the car with all of the functions that are tied to that horrible Sync unit. Not to mention, I did test out a few of these (lariat and XLT) and my god the audio inside is atrocious at best compared to almost everything else out there.

You gotta make compromises to hit price points on an economy vehicle. I think Ford did a very good job of making the right ones, considering it is a truck. Some may disagree, and that's fine, it's subjective. Comparing it to full size trucks that cost nearly twice as much is not fair and misses the point. People always seem to lose sight of the fact that this thing is priced like a Honda Civic while offering way more versatility and capability and even, in hybrid form, better economy. There is going to be a cost for that somewhere. Even if you option it up to $40K it's still a $23K truck at heart.
@BlitzHack
@BlitzHack 3 ай бұрын
My B&O system in my Lariat sounds just fine. I agree with some of what you say but my 24 Lariat addresses most of your concerns. If Ford built what you want in a Maverick it would cost $50K and would of been a flop. I suggest you keep what you have and maybe one of the other manufactures will hit your niche.

we have an amazing product(carplay android box) that I think would be a perfect fit for a car. Would you be open to the idea of creating a video showcasing our product?

It’s not a real truck. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It looks like it’s almost exactly what you needed.

Eh, perception doesnt define a "real truck." I can haul stuff in its truck bed. It's a real truck!

@RobertDaleRenfrow I can haul stuff in the back or on the roof of my Golf. That doesn't make it a truck.

Many of the bed covers/tonneaus leak somewhat. -Do your research before you spend any money. Costs have gone up on the Maverick $20k (Hybrid) to $25k-$30k now.

I am confused. Here you say you have had a few minor issues, but say and sound overall happy with it, but many of your videos are "The Maverick SUCKS," and lioks like you have had mechanical issues, seat issues, etc etc.
