Ford Transit Suspension Upgrade - SumoSprings and Bilstein Rear Shocks for Camper Van

Ай бұрынAfter a camper build out of your Ford Transit you will quickly realize you need to beef up the rear suspension. This can be accomplished easily with the addition of some SumoSprings and / or a shock upgrade. I did both, but the Sumo springs are probably the best bang for the buck out there. Would you recommend using both spacers for a build with almost nothing inside it? Maybe added 500lbs

No. I dont think you should ever use both according to the manufacturer. It's ok if they don't touch while empty. That just means you don't have enough weight to even need them. Better shocks like the ones I used in this video and a rear sway bar would probably do what you need

Did the install raise the back end slightly when parked? I have converted mine and I am no just barely dragging my trailer hits at the bottom of the driveway. So hoping the addition of the yellow springs would provide a secondary feature of slightly raising the back end.

Yes it raised it quite a bit

I dont have a super heavy build as there is no water system but the slope of my driveway with the extra length added by the hitch causes me to just barely scrape as I am at the bottom of the driveway. I figure if I get any lift at the back of the vehicle I will be able to stop dragging the hitch on the asphalt.
