Foreign tourists continue to flock to Intramuros, Manila.
Tourism in Manila is on the rise. Different nationalities are seen touring the historic walled city of Intramuros.
Major tourist drawcards such as Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church and Casa Manila are popular spots among local and foreign visitors.
In 2023, about 5.45 million international tourists arrived in the Philippines, reflecting a significant increase from the previous year's total. The number of international tourists arriving to the country plummeted between 2019 and 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and has only started showing signs of recovery in the previous two years.
The Walled City of Intramuros is one of the top tourist spots in Manila. In 2020, the historic walled city of Intramuros has emerged as Asia's leading tourist attraction in the 2020 World Travel Awards, besting such world-class landmarks as India’s Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.
This is the second time the Philippine destination won the title after getting the award in 2016. Last year, Intramuros was nominated again for the 'World's Leading Tourist Attraction' award.
Last year, Manila was named the “World’s Leading City Destination” for the first time ever at the World Travel Awards 2023.

Pwede nila gawing 5 star hotel yung Palacio del Governador. Gawin lang mukhang luma yung building, baka pwede gawing palitada at lagyan ng mga wrought iron balconies.

Pati landscaping sa loob ng intramuros walang ka world world class. Para kinulang sa pondo. Hindi din talaga marunong mag landscape kung sino humahawak o namamahala ng intramuros. Na landscape na basta nalang okey na.

Mahusay yung gumawa ng landscaping ngayon ng National Museum complex sa Rizal Park. Napakasimple pero napaka elegante, pati mga nilagay na street lamps.

I hope the City Mayor can fix that Electric Post ( @ 1.34 video clip) that looks like it is almost about to fall because its leaning at 11:00 o'Clock. It's probably because of those spaghetti electric wires which are thousands of them coiled to the one electric post. Too heavy for the post to carry.

It is gratifying to know that the local government agencies are restoring the grandeur of Intramuros. Manila lacks a central historical district that foreign tourists flock to like the Mall in the UK, Royal Palace in Bangkok, etc. The only blight that I see are the touts hanging about pestering the tourists. They should either get rid of them or authorized those who can conduct business in a professional and presentable manner.

Pari yung monument sa gitna ng manila cathedral hindi man lang linisin at gawin clear ang water para sa europe. Kase kaya yun gawin lalo na ng simbahan. And dugyot ng monument na May fountain.

Sana ibigay sa azucar ang restoration ng buong intramuros. Kase worth it. Sa gumawa ng pasig river esplanade sila nalang gumawa ng restoration at ng rizal park original plan ibigay na din sa kanila.

Nako, di ko gusto yung disenyo ni Acuzar, masakit sa mata sa totoo lang. Palagay ko mas mahusay yung kung sino man pasimuno ng restoration and beautification sa National Museum complex sa Rizal Park.

Ou eh. Wallang wow factor talaga. Nasanay na sa low quality. Buti pa ang makati feel mo talaga hindi tinipid yung mga infrastructure nila.. Pag hindi tinipid mararadaman mo talaga eh kahit sabihing maganda or ok. Yan mukhang nagpipigil ewan ko ba parang hindi wow or bongga. Ano lang cya meh lang at ok na na quality hahah 😂

Suggestion Lang, Yung mga nag offer ng service pedicab tour, dapat pare pareho ng damit. Kahit t-shirt Lang pare pareho ng kulay at uniform sila. Kase pangit tignan or Kung Hindi Naman naka ID. Sana gibain na yung BF Condominium dahil eyesore talaga siya, at i-restore yung original na UST campus. Iyong Sto. Domingo medyo mahirap pero kung tatrabahuhin talaga kaya din naman. Nagawa nila sa Bohol churches, kaya din nila magawa sa mga nasirang gusali at simbahan sa Intramuros.

Just watch out for the pedicab drivers who scam by quoting one price then raising it when it comes to paying. Better yet, walk around on foot. It’s not that big to need a ride. If you want to use them, get the quote and ask for final price. Ask how long the ride is for. They will not tell you that they charge per half hour unless you ask. They will leave out details so do not trust them.

Hanggat may mga illegal settlers sa paligid nang Intramuros na yan di nila makakamit 100% tourist spot yang lugar na yan, maraming pa ring street children at street dwellers at mga sidewalk o ambulant vendors dyan, mga beggars na sumasalubong sa mga turista na nanghihingi nang limos., yan ang mga dapat munang pagtuunan o maging priority muna nang Intramuros Administration bago ang pagpapaayos at pagpapaganda nang mga building.
