Sadly, he failed to speak to the most prominent band member. The voice of Foreigner, Lou Gramm.

Lou is wearing our high school Gates-Chili track T-shirt. Very cool.

With the exception of Mick Jones, I’d always thought Foreigner were all Americans. That said, Lou Gramm WAS Foreigner!

Actually at this point, with the exception of Lou Gramm, Foreigner were all British.

I did too. I thought “foreigner” was a play on Jones’ heritage. Turns out Gramm was the “foreigner,” heh

What the heck, the interviewer is treating Lou like he’s not a part of the band! Barely asking him any questions, Lou Gramm is Foreigner!
@rodneylee40268 ай бұрын
Look on the bright side maybe it was because Lou was already the main focus most of the time and it was an opportunity to hear from the rest as there was no internet and few magazines back then, It could have been more sinister though and that someone requested it before the interview with a wink and a handshake ahem, but doubt that.

@7:46 Lou looks like he is irritated that Mick started talking again and kinda cut him off, Lou is just too nice of a guy, I don’t know that he really liked the spotlight 🤷🏼♀️

I've listened to enough interviews to know that the REAL problem was Mick Jones and his hateful treatment of Lou Gramm, mostly surrounding the song "I Want to Know What Love Is". Lou was royally screwed by Mick. It created a chasm between the two.
@sylviebreuil53011 ай бұрын
Yes, Mick Jones took 95 percent on this Song and only left Lou 5 percent. Lou had Refused... Shame on Mick Jones 😝
@waltersimmons9468 ай бұрын
@sylviebreuil530 In case you aren't aware. Lou took the 95% to 5% royalty ratio as a major INSULT and angrily told , Mick "Just take the whole thing" and Mick did just that. Mick took the whole 100% ratio for himself and Lou went on John Beaudins ROCK HISTORY in August 2022 confirming Mick took the whole thing. Lou said to this day he never received a penny for that song, while Mick got a Grammy and a 3 million dollar copyright deal for "I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS". Lou and an engineer arranged Lous perfect vocal take on that song. Mick only arranged the choir. Notice Mick doesn't come out on stage at all while Lou came out of retirement and is doing well?? God doesn't like ugly.😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

@@waltersimmons946 Yes, many of us know this shameful story, we fans... Shame on Mick Jones for what he did to Lou. Mick pocketed everything on this Song but it was Lou Gramm who sang it and NOT Mick Jones. Lou highlighted this very Beautiful Song with his Superb Voice... Mick did other bad things to Lou, it was he who dissolved the Group Shadow King with Lou wlth the help of the Atlantic Label and again Mick who caused chaos when Lou made his Solo Albums. Lou suffered a lot because of Mick Jones... DISGUSTING...

@sylviebreuil530 Thank you, Sylvie. Lou was not the only one affected by Micks shenanigans. Johnny Edwards, who replaced Lou in June 1990, had a band called WILD HORSES formerly aka BUSTER BROWN . After years of frustration, Johnny (who sang for Montrose, King Kobra and Northrup)with his band got a contract with ATLANTIC records. As WILD HORSES signed, Mick had already heard Johnny's demo (with WILD HORSES ) and it was the song 🎵 READY FOR THE RAIN that got Micks full attention and he pursued Johnny and managed to talk him out of WILD HORSES to join Foreigner. Johnny was in the band for 2 years, he did a world tour and they released UNUSUAL HEAT a year later (June 1991) . The album didn't do well but radio stations were under orders to no longer play AOR (Album oriented rock) albums . Shadow Kings album was released in October 1991. They performed ONE concert in December 1991 . That concert is on KZfaq. People don't know that Edwards and Foreigner already recorded 8 new demos for a follow up to UNUSUAL HEAT. They needed a few more songs 🎵. Edwards also informed Mick he was looking for a house for his wife and child. Mick agreed to give Edwards a day off to move into the new house. A whole week passed by till Mick finally called Edwards and told him, "WERE BRINGING LOU BACK TO THE BAND " Edwards was stuck with a house he couldn't afford and his wife went to work and Edwards got a job as a bartender to pay off the house mortgage. Edwards formed the ROYAL JELLY band at that time and he said Mick called him ( about1994) and congratulated him on the new album. ROYAL JELLYs album flopped as did Lous final Foreigner album Mr.Moonlight. Johnny retired from music 🎶 in 1995 and returned in 2015 with his new band BLEU PHONQUE in Kentucky. Johnny's current band has a Facebook page and the live concerts are on KZfaq. I'm sure Lou and Johnny at the moment are happier than Mick Jones, who has real bad health issues.

Whow what a story . I didn't know the story of JohnnynEdwards other than that the UNUSUAL HEAT Album was a Flop. I see a Vidéo of him on KZfaq, very sexy and very long hair... As for thiis Unique Shadow King Concert, unfortunaly it is not in full on KZfaq because it is the MTV which holds the rights and they too had to be ordered not to broadcast this Concert in its entirety. I'm digusted . What shenanigans when we know that Mick ordered their Album cover and photos to be put in the shadows . Mick didn't want Lou to makes hits with Shadow King... He thinks he's the King to get Lou Gramm back. I love the Album Mr Moonlight and yes, the last one forLou because of his known Tumor. Eventoday, Lou takes medication for life. He always has small bottles of water with him. I read his Book"Juke Box Hero", Lou tells all and about Mick Jones too. @@waltersimmons946

Wow, you know a lot about Johnny Edward and you seem to like him. As I said, he was very sexy on Stage, little shorts, open shirt, his beautiful long hair moving he was appreciated by a lot of internet users. But Foreigner still exists without Mick who has health problems and who will soon be 80 years old. The current Foreigner Group are 7, which is a lot doen t attract me at all. I like the Singer Kelly Hansen. What do You think.? They always turn out amazing. For me, Foreigner will be and stay with Lou Gramm 👍😍🎶 the Original...

Where in the 1980-s was this?
@___________________1913 жыл бұрын
Juan Pablo Castano this was probably around 82-83. They were talking about Randy Rhoads plane crash. Which happened in 82. Also they talked about 4 which came out in 81. And they hadn’t talked about Agent Provocateur which was a huge success with the song “I Want to Know What Love Is.” So it’s not like they just decided not to talk about it which means it wasn’t 1984 yet. So I would say it was between 82-83.

I think Lou was a shy guy. Mick was the Alpha of the group and everyone seems a little intimidated him. The whole dynamic seems dysfunctional and as if Mick could care less who was in the band.
