Am I the only one who is satisfied with their make up look? I don't think they had "toooooo much" of it and it did go well with the concept, so what's the problem? It turned out really great and it played an amazing role to expose each of their character in the whole concept. I think this is the best make up look I've ever seen so far in a male kpop mv.

BTS became global and are rising even tho they are not from the big3; they are keeping contact with fans throught twitter and fancafe and are always thanking their international fandom, they have a lot of videos on their personnal channel on yt (they post random things like brushing their teeth)and are genuine in front of cameras (FIGHT ME), they didn't appear on korean tv shows that much either.. but i guess the real reason why they are famous is because of their lyrics, so relatable, they criticise social/political issues too and their dancing is on point, always.. Their company treats them very well and they have a great relationship with their ceo ( lol poor bangsihyuk they always make fun of him ) their concept is original; their first albums were talking about teenage.. problems of school in korea, parents, love.. their hyyh series were about youth, dreams and hope, jobes, love, loneliness... and their last one wings is about temptation and adulthood, each member realeased a solo talking about his problems, women' empowerment.. , it's based on a book called demian and that book had known a sudden sales increase in korea and ranked 20th place there.. also all their mvs since debut have a connected storyline, bighit hired a script writer so yeah they always make their fans read books and look for meanings behind every single thing on their music videos..

I'm really disapointed, not because of their reactions, but because of the lack of information you gave to them about this group... i mean, i though you'll say that the history in the MV is a part of a trilogy along with their other MVs and is inspired by classical book Demian by Herman Hesse, also their company is nothing like SM, they are really free to produce their own songs and they did it in all their albums and mini albums, they pretty much produce themselves and Big Hit (that is a really small company) allows them to produce solo mixtapes... and also BTS have been talking about topics that are considered taboo in Korea such as depression, homosexualism, drugs etc. and their lyrics turns out so good, they really put on their blood sweat and tears to produce this album, every single member of the group had a solo track in this album... and you guys just talking about make up and looks and how fabricaded they are LOL c'mon that was so superficial and not fair for them, it makes me wanna cry BTS is number 1 right now because they say what they want to say, show their sincerity in their lyrics, are super dorks and don't really give a shit about their image in front of a camera, you guys just gets everything so super wrong, again, because of lack of informations!

manufacturing? the reason why i like bigbang and bts is because they are the few idol groups who produce authentic music. BTS was one of the first idol groups in korea to pull of a strong hiphop concept. please dont put kpop under the same umbrella.

they are still A LITTLE bit manufactured though (they were formed by bighit and were trained in the same ways as other idols) but compared other groups, they were definitely blessed with more artistic freedom even during predebut. Same as Bigbang. Had a whole documentary about their training process but it still showed how independent they were with their music. I love both groups and I definitely believe that they are definitely two of the most authentic groups out there (include seventeen because they're self producing idols as well)

Chimney Chim true! I used to be an us-uk music fan but before that i was a first generation kpop fan (2007-2008) and i know how these idols have to train and the idols are mostly just sing and dance follow the order of the company. I didnt like kpop anymore cuz i felt like kpop is slowly turn out to be like 188283 different groups typical concept and even they tried to make their music kinda sounds like edm etc which is trendy but they just like put a bunch of pre-made sounds and turn it to a song. But what i like ab BTS is they make their own music without the afraid of breaking border or smt like that, they dare to criticize the corruption in social and even mentioned about the korean taboo which we dont have much in kpop. And now when thay bcome famous and have the trendy music style too but they put it out so well and make their own color, they dont bring up the simple sound that sound like is made lazily.
@OverItSoS
@OverItSoS 7 жыл бұрын
exactly. No disrespect to the other groups but when I tried to distance myself for awhile from bts and decided to explore the more underrated groups (I was hoping to find another blooming gem that might someday reach the top like BTS) I was honestly underwhelmed. The music I heard was very edm but it didn't feel like it was properly arranged by the producers (there were some groupsthat were good of course but I wasnt a fan of their flower boy type songs). Some of the other older songs even used auto tune which can be VERY off putting (Lotto was an exception though because it was catchy enough for me to ignore the autotune). And majority of what I've heard sounded way too similar and lacked individuality. Really disappointing even though I know these groups worked just as hard as bts and deserves to be recognized. I'm also a big fan of rap and idol rappers who came from the underground (Gtop in bigbang, NamYoonSeok in BTS, and the rap line in Block B as well are my faves) and I was also hoping that I could find a rap line in a group that could connect to me with their flow and lyrics but none impressed me. Sometimes the rap didn't match with the songs and felt out of the place, while in other cases the rappers felt like they were trying too hard for it to be endearing. Maybe I'm just being too hard on them. idk. This made me realize though how special BTS really are because even if they chose the mainstream route now, their music is still not something you would hear from other groups. They have individuality in that sense. They also write their music and their lyrics are so beautiful and personal; not like those generic love songs you'd here from other groups. Their discography is diverse and the fact that they like to experiment with different genres is already an a plus for me. I love them and their music so much and I wish more people outside the fandom appreciated their artistry.

I think I should agree and disagree with them depends on the context they're talking about. But, honestly, if the context is BTS itself, when they're talking about their company just creating human robot for perfection, I hardly disagree. When they said BTS can't really speak about their opinion freely, I disagree. They should have given information that BTS wrote the songs by themselves, and about they're talking about the society and youth issues which is unusual for most kpop songs which mostly take a safer route. They should listen to BTS Cyphers. BTS is famous and has a huge fanbase all over the world because they really close to their fans and they're really humble, down-to-earth, and very natural. and for why kpop idols really avoid scandals and keeping their good images, it's because it's a part of asian cultures. it's in the culture, everyone. I understand because I'm an asian myself even though I'm not Chinese, Korean, or Japanese. I've met many other asian friends and I can see we hold the same value of always trying to be polite and keeping our good images in the society. It's not all about perfections. kpop idols keeping their images good because they care about their fans, they can see that their fans might be hurt by their action if they do anything bad. sorry, I'm talking too much. but it's my honest opinion as a BTS fans and in general.

No, bts is no.1 because of their music and bcs unlike some other idols they dont care about their perfect image. People can feel their passion and determination. We can connect to their songs. They arent cheesy. Tgey may look like any other idol but at this point i dont even consider them as one. Bts isnt perfect but they work hard bcs they want to achieve greater succes and nt perfection. They said it themselves: "We dont want to be perfect, we just want to do what we lov e to do and always try to be better at it."

I dont really understand why they would say a guy lookin like a girl just because of these coconut haircut that everybody has and all the heavy eyemakeup.It's not like they wear makeup evryday its only for performances.I bet they might even wear bbcream or foundation on daily basis but come on evrybody has flaws.Even most handsome guy like songjoongki or parkbogum use mosturizers at least.The eyemakeup too.If they hit jackpot like baekhyun did with his burgundy/vampire look people will know them better in korea.More makeup company would chase after them toadvertise their product.Not defending kpop idols but western artist just look haggard although they are good looking
@OverItSoS
@OverItSoS 7 жыл бұрын
well said. I understand that the idea of men in general wearing makeup is weird but that doesn't mean you have to judge them. It should be acceptable because gender should not define what you want to do with your life. The fact that Korean idols even use make up in the first place (not just performances but also in real life, although subtle) amazes me because it means they're not afraid of dressing up and looking good. They also seem to care a lot about their personal hygiene which is something that I don't usually see from boys in my own country, so this attitude is refreshing. I also agree with the point that although a lot of the western artists are handsome, they look more haggard and aged than the Korean ones PROBABLY because they don't use as much bb cream or anything. That's just my observation tho so don't deem it as a fact.

Those of you complaining about not being able to see or hear the video need to be honest, you've already seen it multiple times. I think, without being too rude, they were able to honestly speak 'their' truth about K-pop. For those of you who are totally immersed and in love with K-pop anything said against it is like someone saying your baby is ugly. Stand back and watch mama tear you a new one. BTS was one of the first idol groups in korea to pull of a strong hiphop concept. please dont put kpop under the same box, they're not affraid to talk about what they think and believe, they write and produce their own songs and BIGHIT Entertainment is always suporting BTS decisions about album concept and music

Yah sadly the fans looking for honesty are the minority. Just look at the comment section here & on some other reactors. If a person says negative stuff or doesn't give desired reactions the immature fans go straight on the attack. I say this as a BTS fan. I've introduced BS&T to friends from other fandoms. They love it, they like the song but refuse to get more into BTS since they've been attacked by Armys while supporting their bias groups. This is recent & has happened to multiple people. The fandom isn't all bad but the immature ones love to be the loudest when they're acting out.

am I the only one who doesnt have any issues at all with mostly of what they are saying? like come on people, those are honest judgements. with reaction there will be comments. and with comments there will be criticism. i mean you honestly cant think that all they are going to say is all rainbows and roses right? they are being very honest about it. and they are talking abt kpop in general. not only bts. and the whole make up thing.. they are not used to it. so of course they are going to question abt it. honestly i dont understand why y'all easily get mad when they say things that you dont want to hear. its called being close minded. so please, especially armys, you can all agree to disagree but dont get all mad when they say things because its their personal opinion and they are entitled to it. so let all strive to be more open minded abt things and receive criticism with open hearts because honestly kpop is great and they did say a lot of nice things abt it. :)

How much did they spend? Shoes: Because we know for a fact that Jimin's slippers (not his dancing shoes) cost $1000 (they're Gucci) and let's assume each boy had two pairs of shoes, $14,000 is a reasonable figure. Upper body: Knowing them, their neck ties probably cost about $600 (like in their HYYH era), so I think it's fair to guess that it's around $20,000 for all 7 boys in their dancing outfits. Plus 50% because of outfit changes so $30,000 Bottoms: Maybe a nice pair of jeans for $200 each, $1400 For outfits alone, around $45,000 USD. Yeah, I think their budget is a little higher than most American M/Vs

Irene Wan Just a teeny tiny detail, which is usually the case for a lot of American music videos as well, they don't usually buy the clothes. They get samples which they use and then return. So albeit an interesting calculation, the assumption that they buy the clothes is simply wrong.

But she basically keep talking while looking at don't know where. What's the worse thing is 6mins mv reaction, it shows her sitting there talking for like 3-4mins. I rather see the other reactors talk nothing and sit there admire the MV than see her trying to talk so much so she don't have to watch the Mv. That's how I feel though.

I appreciate this reaction to BTS and KpOp in general. But they need to know that BTS like Bigbang are somehow given the freedom with their music by participating in the production and composition with their music. Bighit even allows them to release mixtapes which have very vulgar words and topics that are considered taboo in Korea. So i believe BTS will pave a way for other kpop groups to go out from the comfortzone of being a perfect image of a kpop idolx these boys are not also afraid to show their dorkiness and their angst as well. To point out their perspective that kpop is sounding like same already, well BTS is trying to change that. Like this comeback they venture into a different music genre that hasn't been used by any kpop group moombahton a fusion of house music, reggaeton plus trap. These boys wants a bigger picture than just merely being kpop idol. They are the most versatile group ive seen among other group aside from Bigbang. And i think they are appealing to more audiences because they aim to target a broader spectrum of audiences with their experimental musical styles. So yea i hope they will get informed of that idea. One more thing, the fandom "ARMY" cant control everyone so they can't expect everyone to be disciplined or respectful. This is true to all fandoms. Esp with BTS surging popularity? We just can't calm down most of the younger ones in the fandom.

in response to that last comment about being robotic, I honestly think part of BTS' appeal compared to other groups (besides their talent in singing, dancing, rapping) is how much of their personalities and "them" that people around the world can see (with the help of subtitles) in all the bangtan bombs, vlive, behind the scenes stuff, etc. the amount of coverage of them being "themselves" (besides the scripted stuff) outside of performances is what draws me and most people to them over other groups that don't have as much content that showcases their individuality/personalities :)

I totally understand K-pop idols seen as these "robots" and BTS are idols too but getting to know them, I realized that they are a bit different than your usual idols? Yes, they follow the K-pop system but they are very much involved in their music (with the production, writing, composing) and they always share the stories that they want through their songs and you can see that when you look at the meanings of each one. So, I hope people also look at these idols in a different light and maybe see that some groups are more than the "robots" that their company produce.

Why always talking about makeup ? Do you think that american singers or whatever don't wear makeup ? Lmao this is maybe lighter but they still wear makeup. And yeah, I agree, the more I grow up the more I think k-idols are wearing to much makeup, but in this mv that's ok imo. :)

I am K-pop fan, I really love it BUT I am plenty concious k-pop is a manufactured thing. It's all business. I am not saying k-pop singer and k-pop artist are not talentend. I realy think lot's of them can do brilliant work if they had freedon for that. But I like k-pop cuz they produce quality dance, vocals and mv. Sometimes annoys me how agencies put their cast under so hard work and how they need to be under strict physical standart. I think the future of K-pop to survive is more and more solo work with more path to individual and personal expression. *Sorry my bad english.

Shymoon I agree with you, I hope they will get more freedom. It's actually sad that some idols have to perform songs they don't like :( Where are you from?

Kpop is not just limited to so-called idol groups. It's quite sad to me that many foreigners recognize kpop as idol group industry. always makes me frustrated..

is it just me that gets annoyed when they talk and discuss a lot during the video? I'm sat here thinking "stop talking, watch the video and listen to the music! you're missing the brilliance!" reactions are fine, but save all the talking for later! 😫

I've just left a comment in another video where a lot of ARMYs were bashing on the reactors just because they weren't gushing about the boys and the MV and I'll say it again here. hope we understand that not everyone will get the MV or like what the idols' aesthetics and what not. That's the reality. These are their honest thoughts. Some I agree on and I find a lot were quite insightful. There were those I didn't agree on but I still respect and appreciate them. All love everyone. ❤️

I don't understand why wearing makeup is bad for males. BTS wear makeup for the concept, plus if guys wear makeup to feel confident let them be. I don't like when people are so close minded, I'm so glad I wasn't. I'm also glad these reactors don't see anything bad about it.
