Our next Filipino Food taste test took us to Mama's Grill in Siargao Island to taste insane grilled filipino food. We tried grilled pork, grilled chicken, grilled squid and an amazing chorizo or longanisa.
This week we made some more awesome Filipino Food - more specifically we made lechon kawali and let our friends here in Miami try it. It took a lot of research finding out how to make lechon kawali but it was wort doing my research on this lechon belly dish.
This filipino food taste test was a lot of fun and my americans trying filipino food really enjoyed the taste and concept. It was great being able to enjoy the filipino food here in Miami Beach whith the stunning view of downtown Miami. I hope you guys enjoyed our past few food vlogs on this channel. By no means are we now a food youtube channel but every now and then we will make food video series to share our taste experiences of past travels like this one to the Philippines.
We went to BGC Manila to try some incredible filipino food and traditional philippine dishes. We visited Manam Restaurant located in BGC and Makati Manila and got to try Adobo, Sissig, Bicol Express, Sinigang and many more traditional filipino foods.

One Filipino cooking that won a big prize and instant popularity in Germany was the Crispy Pata. Europeans don't waste parts of the animal when they slaughter. Americans waste a lot when they butcher a pig or cow. French and Germans like sour soup, At par with our "Sinigang" I remembered my Mama when we had a bowl French soup in Toulouse. Don't belittle our Dinuguan, every culture have its equivalent.

Crispy Pata, just like Chicharon can also be found in other Latin countries and Spain... Not an authentic Pinoy food. Just like our other Spanish and Latin influenced dishes like Kaldereta, Menudo, Pan de Sal, Pan de Coco, Paella, Lechon; it is part of our heritage already.

svr 2018 well technically... Authentic Filipino food is fusion food. Our food has influences from various different countries... American, Spanish, Indonesian (ASEAN), Chinese (East Asian), even Indian and maybe even some Arabic as well (Arabs also visited the Philippines in pre-colonial times) there are probably even more that we just don't know of yet...

You guys are amazingly sweet. Love watching your reactions about Filipino foods. I know this may sound too much but i challenge you to eat a filipino dish called pinakbet or pinapaitan. There's other more, like the lumpiang sariwa, the palabok, Pancit Luglog, and the Sinigang na hipon sa bayabas of Tagalogs, the Itag and pinikpikan of Ifugao trbes, the Humba pork with Lutos flower, the authentic Goat Pinapaitan with Tamarin sour fruit, the Ubod ng Yantok or Rattan Ubod Salad, the jumping Shrimp salads well as the different regional authentic Dinengdeng vegetable recipes of Ilokano region coupled with charcoal grilled tilapia, bangus fish or fried pork. There's so much taste and foods to learn about traditional filipino culinary and desserts. Try to taste more of these regional recipes like the Pinangat sa sukang puti Anchovis and the Dinakdakan Pork, beef and goat of Ilokanos, the kinilaw na tulingan and Bonitos of the Bisayans, The ginataang langka (jackfruit with coconut milk, hot pigeon chili pepper with shrimps) and the Sinigang na Lapu lapu fish or steamed Lapu lapu fish in hot chilly oil with fried bamboo shoots! Whenever I do some comments, I make it sure that I pressed 'likes' first before anything else. Thanks that you appreciated our "Filipino food." You should also try our bistik (beef or pork, or chicken meat), My children are working in Bangkok and they always ask me to cook for poor bistik, pork sinigang and tinolang manok (chicken) whenever they come to visit me in Phuket. Just ask and try. Love watching your vlog. Enjoy Philippines ...

Try: RELYENONG BANGUS CHICARON BULAKLAK TINUKTUK (BIKOL DELICACY: MUST BE COOKED BY A BIKOLANO) - Tinuknuk is a variety of Laing (taro leaves) with various spices and herbs plus female crabs and shrimps (preserved with salt for at least 2 days [buro]) then boiled in coconut milk. Only Bikolano can cook an authentic tinuknuk. All tinuktuk available in Manila are bastarded version. The ingredients (garlic, lemongrass, pepper, young coconut meat [buko], origano, onions, female crabs from river (more crab eggs the better), shrimp from river were MIXED AND CHOPPED into small pieces [TINUKTUK means chopped into smallest pieces]. The mixture must be bagged using 2 fresh taro leaves. Put some coconut milk before tying it or making a knot. Boiled all the bagged mixtures with coconut oil for at least 3 hours (til the coconut milk appeared like a coconut oil. Put cayenne chili
