Forest schools are becoming more and more prominent, benefiting children in a number of ways. Ottawa Forest and Nature School are leading the way with their amazing outdoor early learning program in a 900 acre forest! But can we bring outdoor learning into our early childhood programs even if we don't have easy access to a forest?
Marlene Power, Executive Director of the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada, opened up to Storypark's CEO to discuss this topic.

Ooh, yes, like that pondering...At 8:01 I appreciate that Marlene said: play can be in a puddle. What we enjoyed when visiting deserts or nature was the bouldering, where our child could practice taking risks. I think risk taking is a big part of this forest schooling yes? Our child figured out: What works for me? What is too big of a risk? Our kids felt empowered: competent, capable and curious anywehre, even without a forest.
