the older gentleman with the glasses you see smiling is the original singer of the song. he's kim chang wan from a 70s & 80's rock group called sanullim. forestella had just come back from their very first overseas performance at a festival in dubai, so they were influenced to do their performance with an arabic flair. the show they performed it on is called immortal songs, and the concept is a friendly weekly competition where the performances are based on interpretations of either a specific artist's past hits (in this case sanullim) or on a specific theme. this is why forestella performs so many cover songs. it's these cover songs that tend to go viral. sadly their own original music does not. 😞😞😞 kool, which you weren't impressed by, is really the only original of theirs that has gone anything like viral. but ironically, that one was just merely forestella making good on a promise to do a kpop dance song if the fans would get the views on the MV of another one of their originals (save our lives) to 990,000 views. the one song they did that could be considered mainstream kpop and turned out to have broader appeal is the only one where they were out of their element. forestella, being classical crossover instead of kpop, is really such a niche genre...such is the life of classical crossover artist i guess...

KOOL was a present to their fans! Forestella promised if the original song "Save our Lives" hits 990 000 views they will do a dance cover of a k-pop song! Forestella did what they did.....an original! Promise kept! I like Kool because it shows Forestella can sing every genre!

People are surprised because they are very versatile and always make the covers their own without disrespecting the original artist.

If you like more operatic sound from them, "Parla Piu Piano" I recommand. And you love the bass sound, " Hijo de la luna" and "Inner universe" is good.
