Forged Steak Flipper- Easy Basic Blacksmithing Project Step by Step
Step By Step Intro to blacksmithing simple forged steak Flipper, Carolina Pig tail flipper BBQ grilling tool
Hello all back again today with another fun vid, this is a back to basics of forging and blacksmithing demonstration video of one of our most popular items the steak Flipper or Meat Turner.
For this new year I want to revisit some of my more popular videos, re do them and or make them better, if possible, I have a new editing PC with a lot of HP under the hood and am really enjoying editing and filming again. This back-to-basics vid may not be for the seasoned blacksmith; however, I've learned there is something to take away from everything good, bad and the ugly. Hopefully you all enjoy this as much as I did making it.
Material for this project is only 3/8" Square stock cut at 26 inches. I hot wax coat the meat turner for years of protection under normal care and in all is a 30-minute project at the forge under normal circumstances.
What is your thoughts? as I have become a more seasoned smith and have learned more over time would you like to see how things have changed? see new iterations of old projects brought back out? if so drop a like comment and of course share. The channel just Hit 5.000 Subscribers! let's push it even further.
As always thank you so much for following, commenting and sharing.
See you in the next one.

At the initial semesters of engineering, we learnt forging. And the experience was pure magic.

I like yours better than the ones I've made! I've been designing texturing dies for my Coal 12-ton to impress bark patterns on round stock, and I think this project would be one where the bark pattern would set it above the competition. It would certainly fit with the leaf, and any excuse to make a new tool is good enough for me. Thanks!

Thank you, I've made a set that I've used to make fire pokers with a branch design. Worked really well and made a beautiful piece.

Looks nice. On some of the steps the labels are blocking what you’re doing.

Came out really good, beautiful work! What would be considered a "food safe" wax?

I've done something very similar in the past. Taking rounds dog and either slit chiseled or abrasive wheel cut much like you would for making a roasting Fork

@@wrotironexactly this. Sometimes the adjustments I make take longer than what the hammer wants to do. For me it's easier to keep a good working rhythm than to pause longer to stop tapping the anvil.
