Always great to be reminded about stuff long anticipated, some of which we should already bloody have! If they wern't so busy taking an entire month to recover from a week of christmas hangovers :/

@@CasaBLACK eeehh, I really dunno about that. We have no idea if any sense of urgency is put into any bloody process. Maybe marketting? Meaning they are very chill most of the time. After a citcon like that, some amount of crunch would be bloody expected!

I really wonder about prisoner pods…can I put a player in them, can a player then escape with alt f4, if they can’t escape, how long can they be in there for, if there is a time limit what happens when it expires, if it doesn’t, can a player be stuck in there permanently until released, what happens if I put someone in there who isn’t a criminal. If I put an npc in there, are they stuck there, if it’s for a mission will the mission respawn with the same npc or is it limbo until complete, what if I launch a pod with someone in it into space, are they airtight, what happens if a prisoner needs to pee or poop while in there, do they get thirsty or hungry, are they asleep or awake, what can a player do if he is trapped in a pod….can I look around and communicate with others, tell people where I am, so many questions ?

I'm going to guess that hacking is in some sort of T0 state if they have planned to release the Legionaire from the Citcon preview. Also regarding the quantum economy stuff, I remember seeing a comment from a CiG employee stating that the work is done but there wasn't enough in the PU to warrant pushing it to live. I wish I could remember where I saw that

I would also wager that they need more stable servers to push quantum as well..

Also Tony Zee has left, confirmed x. x PS What's with the 'last hope' of Pyro getting in December, when 4.0 is targetted for Summer? Maybe you mean Pyro Preview Channel starts in summer, with Live release in Decemeber? That's probably accurate tbf x. x

I am curious what is going to happen with destructible environment in an MMO. Blow up all the derelict outposts before anyone else can go and see them in their full glory. Unless they are going to pretend that after the derelict colony is vaporized by a s10 from an A2, dozens of new NPCs decided to move in and repair all the broken stuff to live again in their new derelict outpost. Pyro. Arena commander is supposed to be an ingame thing. But since the very beginning CIG has kept it as a separate module you can choose to play. Why can't they just give you the option of loading into a Pyro server or a Stanton server. You would not be able to hop back and forth. Just 2 separate accounts basically. You cant park your ship at the jump point in pyro and then load up in stanton and have all your ships or money. You would have a new from scratch account for stanton. That would prevent people from gaming the system in any way. That would be the easy way at least. Then when they get server meshing going, we can use actual jump points and 1 account will transfer to other side as it is supposed to. Otherwise, when will Pyro be at least as stable as stanton? Has taken many years to not fall through the planet EVERY time you get off the ladder of your ship. Going to release Pyro to the PU with meshing and are not expecting major teething issues with a full PU over there? Let people work out the problems as a standalone server now, before we are jumping between systems.

Well Pyro has not been fully ready so thats one major reason why its not been available. Also to release it now as a separate server system would also be a white flag that they cannot get server meshing along with Pyro which has been the rhetoric for a while now. I think if Pyro were in a very ready state that they might would do that, but since they've been matching the Pyro work with server meshing my guess is that they just want them both at the same time.. Also I've heard quite a lot of people talk about how much more stable Pyro is compared to Stanton which makes sense since STanton was the system they learned how to create systems on so it will probably always be the jankiest, just as newer ships are a lot better than their similar counterparts released in the past.

I remember when Chris decided to lock the goals together. I thought we had static server meshing now though, which is what has enabled PES. So now it is dynamic meshing which is needed for jump points to work. Also F8 was not going to be flyable until sq42 and players flying and walking around everywhere in an idris was not going to be until sq42 either. Nothing is set in stone and from what I have seen of pyro it looks playable as is and can be added to as it evolves just like Stanton was.

CIG lost a few devs and pushed back the BMM for what is likely to be years. Now, this month, they've lost or fired much more important devs. How's that for tracking patterns? I'd say that throws a wrench into the works for being able to predict what's actually going to be delivered this year.

I disagree. Rearranging staff but still hiring means they are not being hit like some companies which are laying off thousands. It's cool though to jump on the hare bandwagon when it swings through town and help elevate conjecture and rumors.

@@CasaBLACK Top position devs suddenly not working for the company at all is not “rearranging”. I know some love to sugar coat the facts to try and make their point seem valid, but that’s a bit ridiculous. But we will see. When that announcement comes, it will only be a surprise to those who huff on the copium.

Hacking with the Legionaire and first refinery ship is the Starfarer. Is this too wild to assume?

I think you're right with the Legionnaire for sure. There's a reason that ship got bumped up to come out this year and its because of the capital ships starting to arrive. Very exciting stuff..
