Is the Cutter a better ship overall? Yes. But the Kore is WAY better in a fight. More guns, more maneuverable. And it's a lot of fun. Disclaimer: I have a Tana (lots more missiles and it has a bed) and it was what I used for XT while I was waiting on the claim timer for my Hornet. Great ship, worth buying in game. Maybe not so much with real money.

I needed to drink 2 nuka grapes and this was the easiest place to find those for a newer player that hasn't found nuka world. Was down to the last 30 minutes or so on the daily challenge to drink 2 of them to get the daily bonus, and this video helped!

I got a titan as my starter ship; i don't regret it; it's very fast; it does a bit of cargo; it's good for box missions and some mercenary work... it has good stealth configuration for sneaking around... if you want a jack of all trades starter ship to try a lot of game loops in the titan is the one to get. on the topic of the nullifier ship module; this is going to get abused by griefers; i thought CiG were anti-griefing these days? why give them a dedicated griefing module? The only way to prevent greifing is to run away, give the griefers tools to stop you running and they are guarenteed to kill you.

Thanks, that was interesting. I currently fly a Freelancer MAX, having upgraded from the base model. I'd agree, the base Freelancer is difficult to use when ROC mining: the MAX will comfortably hold a ROC DS (a really under-rated vehicle), or, if needed, an Ursa.

That information about the scan numbers is very useful! I'm going to try that out shortly. I find hunting for ROC -mineable Hadanite on Aberdeen a pain. It's hard to see (with all the dust) and it requires the special heat suit. Go to Magda. Not only is it pretty to wander around in, but I find Hadanite there in great clusters of 8-14. It doesn't require anything other than a regular spacesuit, either. On my last trip, I mined about 200K worth of Hadanite in 36 minutes (not counting returning to one of the planetary bases to cash that in). Good video - thank you.

Cig should do a mid size salvage ship like one up from the vulture

50k should be a substantial ship. I did a Freelancer Max and it didn’t have cargo to mitigate the contract price. Also did the Arrow initial contract plus a Terrapin and with the traveling to each one, time scraping, etc. the contracts were not an effective way to earn money as they are now.

Really would have been good to explain what the weapons are at least.

My weapon build: 4 Attrition 5s, 2 Attrition 2s in the top turret, 1 Attrition 2 replacing the tractor beam turret, and 24 Dominator 2 missiles. Components on mine are what are listed in Casa Black's loadout video.

Some trivia about the Connie Taurus. You can replace the tractor turret for a single size 2 weapon. It's not a twin turret, but will surprise people who will expect it to be a tractor.

I ultimately binned my Freelancer and replaced it with a Cutlass Black. A part of me loves the Freelancer and I'd love to own one but it is in dire need of a major update/overhaul along with a complete redesign for the cockpit. Despite my love of the Cutlass and Freelancer though I think the simple reality is that the Zeus will more or less render the Cutlass, Freelancer and Spirit obsolete outside of their specialist variants such as the Spirit Bomber. Insofar as medium ships are concerned, I'd quite like to see something from either Anvil or Aegis. I've seen a community brochure for a community designed ship that is completely modular that occupies a size slot similar to these vessels (I forget the name of it off hand) but were to be brought to the game I'd probably leap on it without a second thought.

wel i waited 6 years after buying it before it was ingame,i plan to solo it since with scanners radar drones u should be able to detect other before they can detect u.when that said cargo room is outdated since game and cargo is a hold other thing today than it was produced.i hoping we can get a sience modul for it then i would change cargo out with that.and for money making more to hopefully as stated 12 years ago there will be tusind of systems to find and explore :) but all us carrack owner have a dream from the day it was told it would come,but we probelly get disapointet and wasted money on this,but i cross my fingers hehe

So this is a guide for new players and you start by recommending people pay 130k to upgrade their ship. So, what do we do before that, when we log in with 40k ? Everywhere on KZfaq people are posting videos about starting from zero but oh you need extra ships or three times the starting cash. Not helpful.

Press and hold B does nothing, I have to press and hold, but it switches to some other mode, which disables shields. Thouhg I don't see anybody doing it like that, they activate QD with shields still on, so... how...?? I've had a look in the hotkeys settings and I can't find anything...

J actually went all Gatling ballistics hard points and destroyed pretty much every fighter I caught off guard very quickly. But a ship like the Firebird is hard to deal with because its extremely fast and can easily stay behind you

Thanks for the Tip with the Zeus at the end, as it somewhat means an akward spot for the C1 I feel like. As for upgrading from my starter ship the cutlass seems overall more "all-rounder" even tho the freelancer has those 20+ SCU. Then again grinding for a Freelancer MAX seems fun with the Cutty for a bigger Hauler AND then having both as an option.

I think the c1 just needs a optional module to replace the remote turret tractorbeam with a remote turret size 2x1 or a 1x2 and it be such a solid multi crew ship for what it is. The problem with sc is a lot of things that would exist irl get shit on by a loud part of the playerbase cuz they dont want ships that do other things poorly as an optional thing. Like drones being interchangable. Or god forbid you ask if something can fit a roc that isnt a cutless on reddit.

Landing navigation in this game is horrific. No approach vectors or waypoints, no ILS, no STARS or SIDS, absolutely nothing but a little marker that MIGHT show up if you're within 100 ft. Insane.

I originally got the cutter as my starter ship. But, i didn't get it for it's utility. I got it because it was the only starter ship that reminded me of the Winnebago from Spaceballs.
