So one frustration I have right now is how your mesh stays aligned with your forms. When I remesh, I get poles that add a quad right in the middle of a line. So it destroys any creases I may have made. The only way to get rid of it is to add more geometry.

Yea I'm not sure of the goal with this title. It's like saying to forget about grammar when writing. You need understanding of the anatomy to get the form in the first place. Kinda funny too because he's literally describing the anatomy in the first couple of minutes lol.

I guess this vid aims to convey what's usually being taught in drawing class. When you're starting doing figure drawing, you'll often hear "forget about anatomy" and focus on the pose. It's all about how you perceive shapes rather than focusing on accurate anatomy

@@friolle Thats a different matter specifically for gesture drawing and in the case of sculpture gesture sculpting. When you are creating pieces of anatomy, IE: facial features and character bodies, its important to have some adherence to anatomy in order for things to make sense. It just sends the wrong message, especially to beginners to say the anatomy isnt important because that is what creates the form in the first place.

try this exercise, take a cube, and turn it into a sphere with sculpting tools only. Create a perfect sphere with some subdivision and then compare your sphere's form and matcap shading to the perfect sphere. It will help you better understand the basics of reading shading at the least.
