Disappointingly, the new model specs wise doesn't equal the old eclipse models (efv 110d) Iwith screw crowns in 36mm & 40mm. I have to recommend the Casio Oceanus titanium- caveat: the properiety bracelet is the only negative ( a good fit is possible ).the steeel versions avoid this ( also 2 smaller 'cough' ladies models ).

If I am not wrong they made the first waterprof wristwatch. Hence the Oyster. Also, self winding existed before, but they created the rotor system. Hence the perpetual. I think that in reality everything was more complex, you can look for videos about Rolex history, but there are reasons why they took the lead. Then they become the reference, and started to use the marketing tactics of luxury brands, but in reality their watches were reliable "tools", not a luxury ítem.

@@gatobakuniano You lost me at the first sentence.hahaahaha! Blancpain 50 Fathoms was the first dive watch, designed for the navy. Automatic movements existed long before Rolex, wasn't utilized well. Rolex standardized them. Wilsdorf was the best marketer. Lets say, I have to buy 1 to 4 watches and the only choice is Rolex. I would buy the GMT, Sky Dweller, Explorer (sam as GMT essentially with a different bezel) and Submariner. Of course, their claim to fame was Submariner. Given to miners and divers to showcase th toughness and usability of the watch.

Last, Rolex dealers lie about many firsts. two fun facts you might enjoy if you like watch history. IWC founder took US manufacturing practices to Switzerland and then was bankrupt shortly afterwards. meaning the Swiss machining has roots in US manufacturing practices from when US was an industrial powerhouse. Rolex is a British brand, Wilsdorf went to Switzerland due to his nationality, (German), and the British raising taxes on businesses.

When even the Casio has a waiting list you know people be going crazy for the hype!

@@omara5079 I'd honestly slot the spirit in another subtype because of the difference in Arabic numerals. But usage-wise, like the OP, it's a dressy everyday do-it-all watch! The spirit's definitely a great choice! 👍

@@delonteeast7955 yeah I see what you mean. I overlooked the indices but it checks basically all the other boxes. It’s a great everyday, dress it up, dress it down watch. Cosc certified and you get a quick release bracelet. One of the best deals in the market imo. The conquest is an awesome watch too, they look much nicer in person

As nice as the case, bracelet, and dial are on the Tsuyosa, I can’t seem to get over the president style bracelet on the oysterquartz style case! Somehow it just doesn’t mesh for me! I do own a PRX, but I try my best not to be biased. I don’t think the PRX is the “end-all” for this style of integrated bracelet watches. My personal favorite is the Vacheron.

Get a Citizen NB1050 while you can. It's a JDM model, but I guarantee it's worth the hassle of importing.

that's exactly what i was thinking, the alpinist is easily one of the best everyday watches out there, dressy, stylish, mid high quality for the price and with 200m of water resistance. you can wear it in most formal occasions or use it as a beater for swimming or trekking or whatever. personally i like the baby alpinist most, but every model is just as good

Tissot really hit this one out of the park. Great size with good proportions, no weirdness with the bezel. Nice lugs you can swap straps on. Great 80 hour power reserve, even the rotor looks fantastic. The fact it’s inexpensive enough that you can afford to get every color to match your sport coats is icing on the cake (make a burgundy dial) 🤌

How’s the PRX? I want to get that for my nephew

If you get the chance, do it. I have the 41mm silver one and Love it. If I had a dressier job, it would get the majority of time from my rotation.

@@TaiwanLYC , with regard to size, I don't mind a smaller watch from time to time. As a guy, for me it's all about design and while I love the new colorful dials on the smaller AT's, I don't care for the hour indices and the shape of the date window. Now on my 41mm, I think elements those are "better".
