g h wouldn’t you see that as the equivalent as of the police told you to pull over, and then got you out the car you would’ve been stopped and not in legal terms parked because it was the police who told you to get off the bike/out the car and they can direct traffic. So in reality yes you’re parked but in legal terms you’re not parked

A police officers, carrying guns, stopped a biker to compliment his taste, then proceed to spend the next few mins talking about bikes. Is this real life lmao. They are probably bored af standing there, doing absolutely nothing but looking at people and cars, so thats why the police guy was trying to create a friendly conversation with other strangers. This is beautiful.

I've been pulled over on the pretext of safety inspection just so the cop could admire my bike. He thought it was a Vincent, and was very disappointed it was a 90s model Suzuki Savage. He obviously didn't know old bikes because my bob didn't look anything like a Vincent, but it was still a huge compliment to me. He let me go with no turn signals, mirrors or fenders.

i agree. the whole attitude with cops being bad guys in various plays in the world has to stop. these guys are working their ass off trying to protect people and they get bad rep from a few bad apples. these two in the video, i doubt that when they signed up for the courses and whatever to become cops that they imagined they would be carrying smgs in town.

Those are H&K MP5s Technically a carbine, not an SMG. In the UK the police are only allowed to fire single, aimed shots so an SMG would be useless. I carried one of those and a 9mm Browning L9A1 pistol as a police officer for over a decade.

It isn't just the biking community like this. I was with my cousin in his BMW M4 Coupe, we pulled up to a set of lights and police officer came over an asked if he could take a picture because he loved the custom sunset Orange paintjob it had on it. The police are just normal people enforcing someone else's orders, show respect to them and they'll show you it. Well, that's how it works in the UK anyway.

Alucard it doesn't matter whether the police "enforce" the law, it's still illegal. Pretty much the same way that in the US certain states allow marijuana but it's still illegal federally, they just don't enforce it federally in those states. It's still technically illegal (or at least for a time was. I'm not sure what the situation is currently).

People sometimes make the comment - " they shouldn't be talking they should be doing there job " - this is there job, they are armed guards that are just having a chat, there is no threat danger or issue. And I tell you what go back and watch the video again this time look at there hands, and where they are placed. They are In range of there gun always moving around and touching it with at least one hand but a completely relaxed body language, no danger, smiling and laughing, they are people having a chat in this video nothing more nothing less. However they know exactly what there professional role is, but they are still just a person.

There opposite the French embassy, the MDP (Ministry of Defence Police) when on duty are armed constantly with a pistol and sub-machine gun. They also protect other key locations around London. Considering gun crime makes up 0.5% of crime in the UK, regular police officers don't need to be armed. When a gun crime gets reported, you contact your local police, the local police then contact the MDP and they dispatch officers to the area ASAP Note: Other police forces do have units that are trained to use firearms but those units rarely get used. E.G: The railyway Police have a firearms unit but they only get used in extreme cases.

Clay Brewer No you don't. You hear criticism about the police as an institution as a whole. I'll point out as well that a lot of the flaws in our police force are valid and accurate. But everyday experiences and interactions between US and UK police are vastly different. I am British but have lived in America for 12 years.

American police have personalities. It depends when you engage with them. They act as peace officers, law enforcement officers, family and community counselors, and in some communities they are political puppets thrown out to catch bullets and have their backs turned on by the legislatures whom created the laws they must enforce.

Cops have discretion if the vehicle is a certain percentage over the limit as most traffic drives at that speed anyway. It's when it goes above about 10 mph that they get worried.

Never seen cops go after bikers in particular in Norway, but they are often after the shitkids tuning their mopeds up to insane speeds. And really, if you are tampering with the exhaust just to make the bike 4x louder, you deserve the fine and talking to from the police.
