You should forge your own compass with either forge welded steel tips or it could be made from a single piece of spring steel.

That's an amazing bevel, well done! I kept burning my beeswax finish when I was trying to heat up my pieces in the forge or with a torch, so now I just pop 'em in the oven and bring them up to about 400 and the wax goes on well every time. Great project!

Dumb Question from the peanut gallery: What did you do to the trailer hitch to make it round on top? It appears you added something to the ball to round it out.

I believe it was a quick change ball it was made that way, thats the reason I use it since it doesn't have a flat spot.
