Hola, Today I'm Forging KRIS/KERIS Knife out of Rusty Gate lock or gate Bolt Latch, it was little challenging to forge its wavy design then i made my own tool to give it waves i hope you like my idea and tool. I took a useless gate latch and made this Indonesian Silat weapon. Watch out the whole video you'll enjoy it.

The kris or keris in the Indonesian and Malay languages, is an asymmetrical dagger with distinctive blade-patterning achieved through alternating laminations of iron and nickelous iron. Of Javanese origin, the kris is famous for its distinctive wavy blade, although many have straight blades as well, and is one of the weapons commonly used in the pencak silat martial art native to Indonesia, Malaysia, & Brunei.

In the ancient times, Keris believed to be embedded with supernatural power and forged by "Empu or Mpu" with multiple metal layer similar like the making of Katana and/or Damascus (CMIIW, im not good with metallurgy), it is also a power symbol and ancient ceremonial/religious equipment. The uses as weapon mostly recorded in history for Duel fights. These days, dull Keris being used as men accessory for Java and Bali traditional wardrobe. Salam terbaik dari Indonesia.

Keris making in Indonesia, especially in Java, is very complicated, starting from determining the day, and weton also practice tirakat. Physically, the material of the keris also consists of several materials and don't forget the meteorite. thank you, greetings from Javanese people....

The sharpness of the keris is not because it is sharpened, and the ingredients for making it are not taken carelessly!!!! But for a work this is extraordinary, but talk about this keris??? Not at all!!!! It only resembles its shape 🙂🙂🙂🙂😊😊😊😊😊😊

Super beautiful and amazing end product and process. It is very detailed! The only thing bothering me was the heat treat, the color on the blade. There were several cold spots and it is probably just due to the charcoal heating but it did not look like the blade was evenly heated before quenching. It may have just been how it looked in the video. Either way it is a beautiful knife!!
