Here is a new video !!
This is a rare antique skee-ball or skip ball game made around 1930 by the US company Wyandotte.
It wasn't working, both gears had to be fixed and the little balls remained stuck. I decided to keep the original lithography, even if it was in bad shape. At least it looks like more vintage :)
Please watch till the end to see this beautiful skip ball game in action !
By supporting the channel you help me make more of these video and find more amazing items.
I hope you'll enjoy this restoration.
Thanks a lot for watching !

Love the approach you took on leaving the original markup with numbers! It's so refreshing to see a restoration done with such attention to detail and preservation of the original features. I'm glad you didn't opt for digitizing and printing a new one, it's great to see the history and character of the piece preserved.

Fantastic attention to detail! Rescue & Restore did a restoration on a very similar toy years ago. It's a real shame his YT channel has gone cold with no new videos in over 2 years now. As a born and raised Michigander, I'm always thrilled to see a piece of local history restored. I don't know about collectors in Europe, but I can tell you antique toy collectors here don't consider their collections complete unless they have at least one Wyandotte tin toy in it. Beautifully done restoration.

As always there is the tripple joy of watching your videos. On one hand there is your restoration talent, watching you do your TheFabrik-things I will never be able to do, it's just fun to watch. Then there's your filming and editing that I still think has short-movie-festival-level. And then there are all these toys you find, so simple, but still so cleverly thought out and built, it's just so cool to see them come back to life. Thx again for putting all these efforts into these videos!

This brought back memories of being a 5 year old at my Aunt Margie’s house back in the mid-sixties, and this exact game was the only toy she had. Nothing worked on it, and the one marble she had was too big to fit in the holes when shot. Those were long boring sundays afternoons. I cannot say I am glad to see another one again, but the work you did on it was outstanding. Thank you for another excellent video. Dan

Awesome work! One question: I've got an old weather vane (weathercock) - you know, a flat figure of a bird that rotates because of the wind, and a cross with letters that show north, south, east, west. The letters are made of thin tin metal and hollow (empty inside), and they are quite rusty and fragile. Also they have some holes and cracks along the edges. I wanted to squeeze/pour something like epoxy inside those letters to make them sturdy and kinda solid, so afrerwards I could put some metal filler on them, sand and paint them, drill some holes and fix them back on the weathercock. What do you think would be the best way to fix the letters? I understand the epoxy might not be the best option. Thank you very much!
@TheFabrik
@TheFabrik 19 күн бұрын
Thank you !! I usually use JB Weld it’s very strong 💪 I also use epoxy putty from Pattex, it work very well 👍
@vsemprivet
@vsemprivet 19 күн бұрын
@@TheFabrik I know JB Weld, used it quite a lot. But I suspect these two work best when you have solid base, so they can fill some cavities or cover holes. In my situation the base itself is very fragile - tin letters made of thin metal, rusty and with many holes. That's why it's critical to enforce the whole structure first. Dence putties won't work as I won't be able to fill hollow letters with them, and if I just try to fill the numerous holes, the fix won't hold as the surrounding metal is bad, so no point in it. What do you think?
