Forgiving yourself is not as simple as forgiving yourself. You don't just write it down and aimlessly launch yourself into the future. It's irresponsible. One must articulate and define what is needed to be forgiven to the best of your ability. The state of mind you were in when you made the mistake, what you were over looking, what you were arrogant/ignorant to, what you were in denial of, what you thought you would gain from it, and how you were avoiding the thought of the outcome of your actions. Having a strong understanding of your mistake can help communicate to yourself how you trampled over your own morals, beliefs and views of the world, while also helping you empathize with those you have wronged or damaged in your life with your mistakes. Then, and only then, can we hold ourselves accountable to an ideal that allows us to go into our future as a more wise, respectable person, hopefully spreading the love and growth that we endure in our self reflections. I don't know what you have done, and I do not know who you are. I only know that we are all people, and we are responsible for the actions we commit in this world. If you cannot define what it is that is wrong, then you are doomed to make that same mistake again, and therefore continuing the self inflicted torment of guilt and self hatred. I hope you had a good day, and I hope you can face your own shortcoming so that you never repeat them in the future. Much love
