Same here. Growing up in CT and having both CT and NY news daily I became familiar with all these anchors. I'm surprised Dr Frank Field is still alive, but like everyone else including us we all get old and our time eventually comes. My recent sadness was Denise Discenzo passed away who also was a CBS anchor in CT.

Yes! I wanted to be a newsanchor and I learned in a journalism class that you were supposed to deliver the facts of the story without your personal opinion (or even post remarks like, oh so sad). Of course, the interviewees could have an opinion. That class was in 2003. Times have definitely changed. RIP 🙏🏾 - she was a true professional and one of my favorites.

Very sad to hear about Michelle's passing. I was a yellow cab driver in NYC at the time. I got a hail and it was Michelle Marsh and three of her colleagues. She sat next to me. It was after her first newscast!!!.' I said wow you are Michelle Marsh. She asked how did you know it was me. I told her I saw an article in the Daily News with a picture of you. I told her I was going to the Connecticut School Of Broadcasting to be a DJ or Newscaster. She told me always look in the mirror and practice speaking. She told me she still was doing it all the time. Also you should go to a small market to break into the business. She told me she started in Bangor Maine. She was so nice and we talked for the whole ride. What an experience!!!. What a nice person. I didn't make it in radio or tv but I'll never forget her advice. MAY SHE RIP!!!!.

A legendary newswoman who is part of history of this great city. She was a broadcasting giant and a rare dying breed of journalists. She was the face of WCBS for almost 2 decades and all of us from this great city will remember Michele Marsh and her constant presence on TV news. Remember how exciting it was when Michele Marsh and John Johnson came to WNBC. It is amazing (and to some extent sad) that WPIX - a station she never worked for, devoted more time and coverage to Michele Marsh’s legacy than the two stations that she has given years of her service to, WCBS and WNBC! Would have been nice for Dana Tyler or Cindy Hsu (who worked with her during those golden years of local news) to do a long piece on the career of this NY TV news legend! Just look at all the names she worked with - Jim Jensen, Rolland Smith, Ernie Anastos, Tony Guida, Carol Martin, Dana Tyler, John Roberts, Brian Williams, Meredith Viera, John Tesh, Anothony Mason, Lester Holt and the list goes on and on. WCBS really dropped the ball on this one. Michele Marsh deserves much more than the 50 second mention she got! WNBC's Chuck Scarborough should have done a long piece on a career of this icon, as she co-anchored alongside him for many years! Michele Marsh will always be remembered by her loyal NYC viewers!

We surely saw Michele Marsh work at CBS2 New York for a number of years as an anchorwoman and reporter on CBS2 News, and we are so sad and somber to mourn the passing of a reporter who went on to NBC4 New York and co-anchored NewsChannel 4 with Chuck Scarbrough until August 2003, and then she had fought breast cancer for a few years until she passed away. May God Bless Her, as she is now in a better place.

In her obit in the NY Times, it was noted that she got huge piles of fan mail from little boys during her stint at a station in San Antonio, one of which begged her to run away with him because "my father owns an ice cream truck". Well, I guess I was one of those little boys (even though just a couple of years older than her), and my father too had an ice cream truck in New York about 15 years before her debut on WCBS. RIP, Michele. New York still loves you and will never forget you.
