Should have asked why he was so adamant in bringing Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa. Apparently, it was mainly Purslow who pushed heavily for that appointment. I don't think he has ever commented publicly about that very obvious mistake.

@@temporaryuseraccount0012Gerrard was a seemingly good choice at the time: - big reputation in football which helps to atttact better talent via the transfer market - won the league undefeated with Rangers and made them a decent team in Europe again. They hadn’t won the league since their fall a near decade or so before. He did it with a small budget compared to Celtic as well. At the time he looked a good choice
