Former clients speak out against 'evil' practices of Connexions Classroom

While the two women who lead Connexions Classroom are in jail on charges of felony abuse, their Facebook and Instagram pages remain active. On them, hundreds of comments have accumulated from people saying the program caused harm to the couples who sought their counseling services.
One former client said this is just the beginning. He believes a lot more former clients will come forward with their stories of shame and isolation.
The former Connexions client is Trey Warner. He said Jodi Hildebrandt would regularly use shaming tactics among clients looking for marital advice. He also said Hildebrandt was an expert in making people believe they were dangerous to be around.

She was considered “low risk” by court assessment and was recommended for release despite how her remaining kids were found, CPS and cops ignored and failed to record so many calls from the neighbours and eldest daughter, her licence got revoked only to get reinstated… Its clear what connexions she and the family has in their pockets.

Jodi's niece, Jessi Hildabrant, spoke on the Mormon Stories Podcast. I listened to the whole thing. What a powerful person and survivor. I hope both Jodi and Ruby receive the sentences that they deserve. Jodi is literally a cult leader.

No pun intended-the only word for what they passively accepted and then ignored is shameful. I don't like to judge, but in this case, the facts and circumstances are too horrific.

Jessie’s bravery and courage was amazing to see, and I hope it inspires the same in other victims who want their voices to finally be heard and believed. I think Jodi is a sadist, who enjoys manipulating and hurting others for her own fulfillment. Over the next few months, we will no doubt hear from many more victims of her “therapy.”

Jodi is a predatory psychopath. People need to be aware that people like that are out there and are good at finding vulnerable people to prey on. I have to say that the “shame” and “isolation” thing is not unique to this program. I’ve seen it in a number of LDS families in Utah. This is a cultural pattern in many families that is generational and needs to be rooted out and call it for what it is: ABUSE. Leadership needs to address this bc it’s nothing new and we’ve got to stop pretending.

There's a Mormon Stories episode with a missionary that was put through so much shame about a normal bodily action. It broke my heart. The missions are where the majority of the cult programming is done. Then they are ripe for Jodi's and other shame counselors the church uses.

The "why?" is very simple. The more ashamed or afraid you can make your followers feel the easier they are to control. The easier they are to control the less likely they are to leave. The longer they're in, the more money they get from you. The longer you're in, the more children you will have and those children will someday give the church their money too. The longer you're in, the more people you can convert. The more people you convert the more money those converts will give the church too. The LDS church is a multi level marketing scam and their product is shame. They infect you with a problem that only they have the solution for. Your quest for worthiness can never be satisfied. You cannot stay and be free at the same time. Enter at your own risk.

JODI is a very dangerous person…I pray that she is jailed for a very long time…She uses mind control and has been doing so for a very, very long time. Her niece Jessi spoke about her Aunt in an interview on “Mormon Stories Podcast” on KZfaq. It’s a very long interview, at the same time it was very informative into who, and what, her Aunt Jodi is…Neither of Jodi’s own children speak to her, her daughter even changed her last name, she told Jessi that she couldn’t EVER be in the same room as her mother…Jodi’s children were living with her when she tortured and abused Jessi, she did some dreadful things. She was made to sleep out on a balcony during winter, she was made to run up and down the mountain for hours and hours. The pattern of abuse that Jodi uses hasn’t changed very much, the masking tape, the torture, the constant barrage of trying to shame Jessi into admitting to SA, pornography, masturbation, seems to be what she has done to the two young children of Ruby’s. Ruby is evil herself, but nowhere near as sadistic as Jodi is. Jessi was taken to a Church service, in a MORMON CHURCH by her Aunt Jodi, she had duct tape across her mouth, everyone there saw her, nobody helped her. Jodi has made millions from all the referrals to therapy from the Bishops of the Church, every couple that has come forth thus far speaks about her separating the couples and convincing the wives that their husbands are evil, they are all labeled sexual deviants by Jodi, they need to purge the shame out of their bodies… Another interview was done on the same site, it was an interview with Adam Steed, his story is interesting as well. EDIT: Both trials for these women need to be moved out of State, if not, I believe they will not be held fully accountable, there are way to many Mormons in the State of Utah, all it takes is one zealot of the religion to cause a mistrial…I would be afraid of interference from the Church, who knows what information Jodi has on these Bishops…

Those in the know realize how deep the pockets of the Mormon church are. 100 billion dollars deep - at least. The politicians there are wholly owned by the church. The only way any substantive change will take place to prevent this abuse (let alone any punishment) is if the federal government gets involved first. The DOJ is loath to do that directly because of fear of appearance of first amendment infringement, but also because those on high (D.C.) subsist on the money the church funnels into the GOP coffers and other monied interests on the far right. But like most organized crime entities, their cracks are bound to appear *if ever* if the IRS is in a position to investigate them for some type of tax fraud. Only then, after access to church records, would any investigation into abuse etc be conducted criminally. The church is extremely powerful and there is no amount of money they cannot pay to silence whistleblowers.

I understand due process, but her license should be suspended immediately since her arrest for CA, then begin the investigative process necessary for revocation. I, personally, have heard enough from her victim clients to support permanent revocation. She has a serious mental disorder and has been harmful to adults and children long enough.

Here in Europe, Hildebrandt would never be considered as therapist and she would never have gotten that licence in the first place. No educational institution which belongs to a religious organization and includes and teaches dreams, visions, religious dogmas and fanstasies like "the Truth and distortion" in their curriculum is considered to be anything but a school of that religion. To become any medical professional, including a psychotherapist, one needs to go to a proper, neutral, non confessional, official educational institution, where one gets a genuine medical education, based on humanistic principles, facts and science. Why there is such an enmeshment of religion and education in America, where all kinds of religious fanatics, charlatans and psychopaths are given a licence to harm vulnerable people with their garbage cult's theories, is truly beyond my understanding! In Europe, the moment any therapist would start presenting any religious teachings as a form of therapy, they would lose their licence in a heartbeat. Jodi Hildebrandt was never a genuine therapist, nor will she ever be one, no matter if her licence is revoked or not. She was a missionary, and indoctrinator, a religios coach, a mormon counselor or whatever, but she was never properly educated for any kind of genuine psychotherapy. The fact that on Connexions she even promotes and presents Ruby Franke as a "coach" is totally unbelievable. And the most terrifying aspect of all this is that, among the two of them, they had milions of views, which literally means that there are milions of parents who might be implementing cruel, abu*ive and inhumane punishments on their children as a parenting method. This is just one gigantic, destructive circus.

The "the Truth and distortion" are teachings from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It's not something she got from her church. Go look up CBT. You'll see the words "distortions of truth" right in the explanation.

Believe me when I say there are many of us who are horrified by the erosion of the separation of church and state. I dislike all organized religions. I grew up Christian and am still shocked by how much it has been warped in the last 20 years. The prosperity gospel is antithetical to everything the Bible preaches. Yet gullible people send those grifters their money. While they hoard hundreds of millions of dollars of tax-free wealth, their parishioners barely scrape by. I'm glad to be an atheist, and I really hope more people wake up.

My opinion: Jodi is the type to control others - even her clients - by brainwashing them to the extent that they admit to doing things they really haven’t done. In her mind, Jodi can do no wrong. Getting a separate apartment from your family because your wife caught you looking momentarily at another girl? Wouldn’t that just increase the likelihood of cheating? Sounds to me like just an excuse to get him out of the house so that “Teacher” Jodi and “Star Student” Ruby could wreak havoc on those kids. Although, I’ve seen him take part in psychological abuse of those kids on their channel, so I think neither he nor Ruby should be allowed to parent again. One of those kids would’ve died eventually.

This is untrue. The Bishops do not come up with the requirements if someone is ready to enter the temple. They ask standard temple criteria questions and the members decide for themselves with a "yes" or "no" to the question. The members judge themselves according the questions that are asked.

My brother took all his kids and has not allowed contacts with his kids since they were born. Now they are 18+ and all moved out but they can’t return unless they follow the church! Love the lady who teaches that class she is sooooo kind, caring and very very compassionste about people and tries extremely hard to help people reach their goals and that And they went back because they said it really really helped them

Fear. She managed to silence so many calls to CPS and police from the neighbours and family, even have her licence reinstated. Living in Utah too with her religious affliction, her connextions may be too on point. I’m glad the victims are stepping out now at least. Who knows if they have been threatened.

One question is: If Jodi is released, will she be allowed to practice as a therapist? The State licensing board has the burden of proof. However, they are obligated to begin an investigation immediately after such charges due to “public safety.” JH can fight it. Or, she can surrender her license. But, “innocent until proven guilty” is our right. The State can work together with its various agencies: DA’s office; DCFS; Consumer Affairs; etc. My guess is her license is going to be surrendered. She won’t be able to hire an attorney to fight with Licensing while she is literally going to be facing current charges of 6 felony counts x 15 years each count. More charges will likely come after a fuller investigation. Licensing is the least of her issues. Surrender it and move on, or it could be revoked, and she’d maybe be liable for the “costs of an investigation.” That said, if JH doesn’t surrender her license, and fights for it, she’s a “psychopath” (Anti-Social Personality Disordered) because it would represent a ‘lack of capacity for remorse’ vs narcissist traits, or remorselessness. Any reasonable person in her situation would shed all unnecessary baggage to keep her ship from sinking. But, if she goes down with this ship, she’s diagnosable.

This should be a teachable moment for the LDS Church. Some light needs to shine on their methods of discipline. Clearly there is a line between real loving discipline and child abuse. The church needs to look at this with open heart and mind.

Here's a horrible story from Adam Steed, another one of Jodi's victims. Jodi had his wife completely cut off any kind of affection, touching, etc. One day he's in the shower, and his wife walks in, dressed in lingerie and ready for seksy-time. She's holding their baby and is like "brb, gonna put the baby down for a nap." Well, seksy-time didn't happen. It was a Jodi-directed plot to arouse him while the baby was in the room. They used this to call him a pedophile.
